Sharks are older than Saturn's rings.
There are more trees on earth than stars in our galaxy.
Birds are dinosaurs.
We see colour through cones in our eyes, and we see light with rods. When there is too much light the rods are not active, it takes a moment for them to start transmitting when you move into a dark area - why you need a moment to be able to see in darkness. If you adjust to darkness and keep that eye covered, you can go into light areas and then back to dark (and uncover that eye) to negate the waiting period. Pirate would often be going from upper deck, in bright sun, to lowerdeck, very dark, all the time and this is why they wore eyepatches.
Greenland sharks grow almost as big at great whites, have toxin flesh and usually have parasites attached to their eyeballs.
Humans have three photoreceptor cells (rods and cones being two of them). Mantis shrimp have between 12 and 16. They can perceive depth with only one eye. They also can move their claws in a punching motion so fast they create boiling hot bubbles and shockwaves that can fracture bone.
