Like come on Nintendo The Switch is more powerful then the 3DS if they can fit all 807 Pokemon I think the Switch can handle it. But I'm not too picky on the National Dex itself, but I'm tired of Game Freak cutting out things just to meet a deadline. Its clear they removed this to reduce development time. Dynamax but it does looks really amazing though I'm still going to buy the game though XD

Wait, so we can't have every Pokemon in our new Pokemon world?

...Oh well. There's a wolf with a sword.

(I'm mostly there for the plot and new Pokemon, not completely for the older ones- although I do see why there should be a full set of the Pokemon in there. Maybe at least for the aftergame you get them all.)

Its not a 5-10 minute process to create all of the Pokémon. Those are new models, that would all need animations, and tons of work. I don't blame them for cutting it, it was going to happen someday with 800+ mons

The switch can handle it just fine, so its irritating that they're doing this :/ I hated sun and moon for not having a national DeX even though you could get everything so just cutting out pokemon is terrible...

Maybe down the road they could patch in support for non-Galardex Pokemon.

But to be honest, if they're doing this to 'allow greater focus on graphics' or whatever, at the very least they should tweak the berry trees. They look extremely out of place right now.

The Switch has clear potential to allow patches in games - no reason at all why they couldn't introduce those remaining at later stages, much like Niantic have done with PoGo.

It's a poor excuse, when that capability is there. Even in Sun & Moon, where there was no Nat dex, the Bank did include one for Gen 7.

Now not only are they basically replacing that service, all the pokemon I've collected on there with the intention of moving up to Gen 8, I can't do that?!?

No impressed. :C

They're the exact same models and animations that have been in existence since X+Y came out 5 years ago. The issue isn't simply that they're cutting all the Pokemon, at least from what I've seen. The issue is that they've made absolutely no significant changes to the game to compensate. For example: -Move animations are still incredibly simple (double kick is literally just a foot, with the Pokemon hopping) -The animations in the wild area are incredibly lazy and the textures are garbage. Surely by now we've all seen that tree that looks straight out of Ocarina of Time. -Megas and Z moves are cut for no discernible reason -Dynamaxing is literally just increasing the size of the model. That's it, no fancy new models or anything there. So basically we're getting another 3DS game on a console 3 times as powerful but this time without all the Pokemon. Plus, Gamefreak only mentioned this at the Treehouse, there's been absolutely no information in the directs about it. Essentially the whole thing (to me, and a lot of other people) feels like a shady cash grab. EDIT: I should add that Gamefreak has straight up come forward and admitted that they care more and are focusing more on their new IPs than Pokemon. I wish Nintendo would just buy out Gamefreak's part of TPC and develop the games in house.

Guys please keep this civil.
I will support pokemon no matter what I've been a fan of it for almost 15+ years I don't really mind them removing Mega Evolutions and Z Moves. Can we at least give the game a chance?
If you're truly upset about the crunch and/or the games having features, content & Pokémon cut... don't buy them. It only encourages the companies responsible, and the crunch will continue & the games will continue to have missing features/content because the people at the top (TPC, in this case) only care about $$$$$$, so don't support them.
This is a great point! From what I've seen there's been quite a bit of outrage both in the west and in Japan, but TPC won't really care unless it hurts them financially. Personally, if I decide to buy the games but don't want to support TPC I'm going to buy them used. Used games don't make the company any money.
