TOPIC | What veggies did you like as a kid?

You know how they always say kids don't like their veggies that much and you grow to appreciate them as you get older? I mean, I hated broccoli when I was really little, now it's probably one of the most common vegetables I eat. Ver gud, 10/10 plant. Didn't really like corn, or green beans that much, peas were okay. Now I eat the first two of those indifferently and the last enthusiastically. But there were some that I just loved even when I was very little. Because lemme tell you, whenever my dad started making spinach to be the main vegetable with dinner: YES FATHER, GIVE UNTO ME THE GREEN LEAF. [s]and carrots but spinach was the big 'yay!' whenever that was with dinner, carrots were more for snacking[/s] (And I mean, it's still true today. Whenever I go home and my dad's making dinner: Dad: Hey we're having spinach with dinner tonight! Me: [emoji=guardian laughing size=1]) What sort of veggies did you love as a kid, and why do you think you liked them but hated others? Or did you not hate any veggies? Or did you hate all of them?

Broccoli, or as I called them, "trees". Not cooked, though, they had to be fresh so I could hold them and pretend I was a dinosaur or dragon eating them.

Brussel sprouts. I absolutely adored them. Also there’s this weird type of really cool looking cauliflower/broccoli called romanesco that I adored.

I was a really, really picky child and pretty much hated all vegetables! Unless it was green beans, onions, tomatoes, or corn, I wasn't going to touch it. ...and in retrospect two of those are debatably not vegetables.

My mom got criticized by some people for not forcing veggies on me, but she said I'd eat them on my own one day. Apparently, as a small child gagging down liver and onions, she sworn her children wouldn't fear dinner time. And she was right. I still can't say I'm the biggest vegetable eater out there, but I love them in soups and spinach one of my favorites now too!

I LOVED canned green beans. But just recently, my grandpa came and was like “have bunches and bunches and lots and lots of canned veggies!” (At my house, we either eat frozen or fresh veggies, never canned) but anyway, I decided to make myself some canned green beans because I remembered I used to love them. I absolutely HATED them. They were gross. I finished half of the bowl because I didn’t want to waste any and then I ate frozen veggies while they were still frozen (a favorite at my house)

Oh my gosh

I loooved broccoli and cauliflower (i found enjoyment in eating summer and winter trees, id put ranch on it and call it snow). I also really liked carrots, and id eat spinach leaves one by one out of the bag. I looved to make salads and i hated tomatoes with a burning passion. I couldnt even have ketchup because i hated it so much.

I loved carrots, peas, and mushrooms! But those were about the only veggies I loved. Other veggies I either thought were gross or just had no flavor at all.

Broccoli was good depending on whether or not it was cooked. I didn't like cooked broccoli, but I liked raw broccoli. I thought it tasted better that way and I'd pretend to be a brontosaurus eating from a prehistoric tree. Broccoli were called "dinosaur trees" according to 4-year-old me.

Believe it or not, broccoli, peas, cauliflower, and carrots. I still love all of em. My mom got me to eat broccoli by saying that I was a big dinosaur and they were tiny trees. I also liked lettuce, spinach and tomatoes.
