...yep. i had to make this thread eventually.
anyways! i know there's other players out there, so here we go! i personally just play osrs (since i quit rs in 2011 and only started playing again a few months ago; i've had trouble getting used to rs3 so i'm holding off on that one for now while still actively following the lore - osrs is great fun, though i do miss dungeoneering a bit!) but on this thread, both games are extremely valid!
but yeaahh, i fell back deep into rs hell a few months back. i've gotten 8 fandragons since then & i also finally got around to getting membership (only 11 years late!) which has been super exciting! i'm currently trying for an untrimmed agility skillcape, so i'll be working on that for a while...
so, other players and/or fans... show yourselves?

Heh, I like your Barrows fandragons.
I've been playing Runescape on and off, across several accounts, for almost 15 years; my current account for more than 10. RS3 only; I tried OSRS but couldn't get into it.
why do they keep calling it Old School when it's getting new content

(eeee thank you)
dang, that's impressive! i played from 2008-2011, i think? then yeah, started again a couple months back after debating for a long time. one fun thing about having played rs when you were a little kid is looking back on your progress - 3 years and i couldn't manage to do dragon slayer, but this time around it took me a week or so :P
also tbh i understand that... i've found the new content surprisingly nice though, doing wintertodt is very addictive & i haven't been able to do raids yet since i'm just a little underleveled but they look so good!!!
i'm debating getting another fandragon for either wintertodt or the great olm, can't decide though...
i'm also very excited for the song of the elves quest & prifddinas being added to osrs, even though i'm nowhere near being able to do it when it's released. guess i should grind for underground pass a bit first, hah.

Yessss!
I play both, RS3 a lot more than old school though. Currently on that long grind to 120 slayer to finally get my completionist cape but it’s really burning me out.

oof, that sounds painful... good luck, though! i'd say i'm still too early in the game for any really, really big grinds, but i'm also very motivated to get an untrimmed agility cape (but i'm only at 65, save me)..... 120 slayer though, i can't imagine ever doing anything like that. that really is some dedication *o*

It is :c super tedious!
Oh my gosh though agility on osrs is such a grind, are you doing rooftop courses? Untrimmed agility looks so good!

yep, rooftop courses! once i get a bit higher still i
might look into doing werewolf, but right now it's just seers village over and over again. in spite of the grind i really like it (i genuinely don't know why) so... i'm gonna see how far i can get!
before wintertodt tempts me even harder to go for 99 firemaking instead

I've quit for good (so I say) because I got tired of where RS3 was going with monetization, but I did have a completionist's cape and billions of gp, and fun toys like top tier weapons. It was competing for my time with Flight Rising, too; though I'm sure you can understand being able to play both simultaneously with afk skilling [emoji=guardian tongue size=1]
I tried OSRS, and I played RS back when that was the live version, but I can't start over [emoji=guardian scared size=1] and I missed all the convenience coding that RS3 had (though they keep adding most of it to OSRS).

that's completely understandable, tbh! and that's some incredibly nice stuff to end on, too - i feel so nooby here with my low-ish account, too afraid to invest in even dragon armor because bonds are more important :P
but yeah, it's really nice to be able to play 2 games at once! i made a coli challenge inspired by slayer (which i still think would work well in fr) and did that alongside my actual slayer grind for most of today, 'twas great fun and i got lovely drops on both ends.
get on it, fr!

At least with a 'nooby' account, new content is something to work for. When all your skills are 99 and new content is out, well uhhh, you can already do everything [emoji=guardian sad size=1]. I think that's partly also why I quit. I was grinding for all skill pets (and nearly there lol), but there wasn't any 'real' accomplishments for me left.
But slayer, people love or hate it, and I loved it as well. I did it to myself, but I got 120 slayer before the RS3 120 slayer update lol.
Oh, I just remembered the other big reason I quit, RS3 wilderness pvp was dead and that had become something I really liked to do. And OSRS has a good pvp scene, but their pvp fights are almost totally different.
