TOPIC | so... something scary happened
so, i've gotten sleep paralysis pretty much my whole life. but every time i got it i just knew to keep my eyes closed. only a few years ago did i learn that hallucinations could come with sleep paralysis.

so, a few hours ago i was laying in bed and i was falling in and out of consciousness. and then i entered sleep paralysis -_-

so, i guess since i wasn't deliberately trying to fall asleep, my eyes were open. and for the first time ever... i hallucinated.

the hallucination looked like my little brother, and he was just looking over the side of my bed. but i knew it wasn't really him because well... he had like, werewolfish like teeth. idk how to describe it. anyways.... he just started at me for a few seconds and went away, but i could hear him laughing.

the second time i got sleep paralysis today was a few minutes after the first episode. and... this time i guess i hallucinated these humanoid, but stretched out figured climbing onto my bed 0-0

but i guess i told myself i was just hallucinating and they went away.

so... yeah. idk why but i just wanted to share that lol. if you get sleep paralysis feel free to share any hallucinations you've had if you want too :]

Have you ever had a lucid dream? I've always wanted to have lucid dreams, but the sleep paralysis which comes with it terrifies me. D:

ah, sadly i havent t-t

but i've had this weird thing happen where i'm half awake and half asleep, my thoughts are very dreamlike and if i'm more on the awake side i can control the things that happen. but i don't think that counts as a lucid dream because i'm aware of my physical surroundings and im not really asleep.

Oh jeez, that must be terrifying. I'm pretty sure I don't have sleep paralysis, but that sounds spooky.

I think I had a dream (not a hallucination tho) of black widow spiders just... infesting my room. It was terrifying and when I jolted out of subconsciousness I half-expected them to exist ;-;

I had a friend in high school who got sleep paralysis and he always hallucinated an old woman sitting on his chest, but that exact hallucination is called "the old hag" I believe. But it was the same thing every time. I'm not sure if what happens to me sometimes is sleep paralysis. I'll be dreaming, and I think I might be partly awake because I try to move and I can't move any of my limbs, so then I keep trying to shake myself awake, and finally I do, and I hate to do it because I always wake up and my heart is racing so fast it hurts. I think I lucid dream because I can control what happens to an extent.

I think i had a sleep paralysis moment a few years ago. I know i woke up laying on my stomach and staring to the right, my eyes opened as far as possible, it felt like something heavy was sitting on my back and holding me in place, and then i felt and saw my cover slipping down from my shoulders over my back down to my legs. Thats when i managed to wake up, my heart racing. The thing was i cover actually was pulled down to my legs. That scared me so much i didn't sleep in my room that night anymore.

Ah sleep paralysis and night terrors... My old companion...

I'm one of the "rare" cases of adult night terrors and sleep paralysis. Got it as a kid and it just never went away.

My worst case was one night when my husband was at work and I was home alone trying to nap while it was chilly in the house, since sleeping is easier for me when its colder.
I woke to the sensation that someone was in the room with me, but when I tried to sit up I couldn't. Naturally I couldn't move right away due to the paralysis so instead I looked around and in the dark of the room I saw a shadowy figure moving about.
It almost resembled my husband so I very nearly relaxed. It even mimicked the way my husband would act when he came home, walking around, changing clothes, etc.
It was only when the thing sat at the edge of my bed that my heart rate increased. It sat there at the foot of the bed, staring towards the closet that's at the end of the room.
Then it turned and looked me in the eyes. Just its head turned, till it was completely around backward with its body still forward. Eyes glowing a hellish crimson in the dark. It mouth opened, full to the brim of needle sharp teeth, what appeared to be thousands of them and it laughed.
A deep menacing sound I never want to hear again. It set all my nerves on edge, almost inaudible by human ears but I felt it, or thought I could feel it, in my bones.
A quick snapping sound and its neck righted itself and in that same bone chilling voice it said to me, "Don't worry my sweet... I'll be back and when you least expect it."

Then it was gone and I could move again. I had to run to the bathroom and empty my stomach for how badly the fear gripped me after that particular episode.

My recent ones have been much tamer. Just whispering shadows and spider episodes. The "red eyed man" has yet to reappear but I fear the day he does...

I dunno if it would help you like it does me but I started taking Valerian Root tea before bed and it oddly helps reduce the chance of a terror and paralysis for me.
