TOPIC | College Students, Where Ya At?

I know that there are other chronically sleep deprived people college students here! How's it going? What are your guys' majors? What do you wanna do after college? Personally, I'm a pre-med student majoring in biopsychology with a minor in biomedical sciences with the goal of being a psychiatrist. I'm thinking about adding a psychology and American Sign Language minor but... we'll see.
(Also, sorry if there's already a thread for this. I went back about 10 pages and didn't see anything...)

hi i'm a zoology major / forestry, fisheries, and wildlife minor (that's one minor, not three), and i'll most likely be going back for my master's in zoology too!

i'm probably going to end up either in museum curation, research, or being a resident biologist, but i have six years of college left and can barely conceptualize next week so i don't really think about it too hard

@AlwaysFlying (*eyes roll out of head after reading about your plans*) Wow, no wonder you think you're going to be permanently sleepless! Have you bought stock in Red Bull or Five-Hour Energy? (LOL) ----- I'm taking my fourth try at grad school (I'll bore you with the details of the other three only if you ask) and I missed the cutoff for this semester, so I have to wait until the end of next month to start. (At least it's not January!) I'll be working on a degree in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, which allows me to double major in herbalism and aromatherapy. The hardest part isn't waiting for class to start, it's looking at oil cases and stuff on Amazon and dealing with my brain begging me to buy them. [emoji=mirror tongue size=2]

Ooh, I used to know a girl that wanted to work for Pixar. Which studio class is your favorite?

@whalesbone
That’s so cool! Have you always been interested in zoology?

@Grail
Aww, my roommates a nursing student and she’s always so stressed about it. I believe in you!!

@ColonelMarian
Haha, maybe I should honestly. Coffee is my lifeline. It’s honestly so scary to think about how much harder things will be once I start med school and my residency... *shudder* Ooh, I wanna hear the stories! That sucks that you missed the deadline. That’s a cool major! Hey, at least you have an excuse to buy oils and stuff... they’re just for studying, right? :D

Besides not being able to hack chem, the school schedule is what scared me right out of naturopathic medical school! The first quarter is 25 credits alone:
  • Regional Anatomy, Embryology and Histology I + lab
  • Human Physiology and Endocrinology I + lab
  • Integrated Case Studies Application I
  • Biochemistry I
  • Intro to Clinical Practice I + lab
  • Philosophical and Historical Foundations of Nat Med I

It jumps down to 9.5 hours in Quarter VIII, but that's because you're reviewing for the first half of the NPLEX for part of that time. (*eye roll*) (NPLEX is the alt med answer to the USMLE.)

Yikes. I know for one of the medical schools I'm looking at its 25 credits the first semester and 29 the next semester. For OMS-III (year 3) it looks like you do 90.5 credits. It kinda makes me sick to think about haha. I'm sure it'll all be worth it though! Some day...
Wow. That's a lot of herbs and oils and such. Would you be using all the same ones in your career after? I don't really know much about any of that, haha.

@TheExorcist
Oh. Goes to show how much I know about that topic, haha! When do you apply (if you are)?
