i feel like twitter's been the best for artists. after the disaster that was tumblr, i feel like twitter's the only place left that actually allows artists to gain viewers just by posting

I don't really have a favorite anymore...

DeviantArt used to be my favorite, but after I went inactive due to IRL stuff, they changed the site's overall appearance and I just kinda didn't like it. Felt like coming back to a whole new site, where I had to learn where everything was placed again.

I seem to get the most likes on instagram, but I don't love it for art bc of the cropping issue and the size that the art is displayed at (and how many simple things you can't even do on desktop).
I still post to [redacted, apparently not allowed to mention this site] but its pretty hard to get attention there too, and I don't like that they resize and jpg art that's over a certain size (which also messes up transparency). And on my computer screen at least, it displays images at the wrong size, which makes them fuzzy, unless you click full view. Which doesn't actually show them at their full size, bc logic.
I like DA's gallery organization options and overall page customization, but I don't post art there anymore bc I got people being rude at my art almost every time?? Trying to argue aspects of my own original characters, trying to argue which species they were (??) things like that. I gave up rofl.

So I guess as far as the site itself, DA gets my vote? But the community there isn't always the greatest, which drove me off. I just use stash to store my ref sheets now (since [redacted] and ig resize them and ig crops them and--)

Not a fan of any of them, they're all pretty much dead in terms of user interaction to the point where it's not worth uploading anything. DA used to be pretty good, but the community has really gone downhill over the past few years and the staff are incompetent, don't enforce the site's official rules fairly and consistently and refuse to address the issues within the community that make the site an unpleasant environment.

I mostly go to Newgrounds.
It might not be as active as it has been in the past, but I love the community.

It depends on what kind of art I'm looking for. Tumblr is still best for fanart, I'll troll through some subreddits for misc art, and Art Station is where I go for professional-level art.

I mostly go to DA and Tumblr...Instagram too, but the size required for posting things myself is pretty finicky.
I have heard Twitter is good for art as well but tbh I find the "noise" level from constant posting (anything, not just art) to be very overwhelming XD;; The last time I checked a few months ago, they were also still really jumbling up the timeline with the "here's what you missed" thing so that's no good for meeeee

DA's better for gaining exposure and I have my main watcher base there thanks to the groups feature but I don't feel terribly comfy there.
My main hub is toyhouse, I feel most comfortable there and I love that I can store character profiles and fics there too.
