If you've ever talked to me about music then you'd know most of what I listen to this.... an embarrassing amount of video game music, but can you blame me? There's some real good tunes that come from video games.
Obviously I'm not the only one so I thought it'd be fun to make a thread for people to just share their favorite soundtracks, feel free to share obscure and lesser known ones and hey if you'd like even talk about why one should play that game :)!
here's a couple I like
Mario Artist: Talent Studio - Title theme - It's really catchy..
Splatoon 2: Ink Theory - Riptide Rupture - It would've been a crime if I didn't mention Splatoon since I've fallen in love with many splatoon tracks! But this one's a personal favorite.

My favourite musical artist overall is probably Darren Korb. He's the composer and sound designer at Supergiant Games, which have made Bastion, Transistor, pyre and are currently working on Hades.
All of the songs can be found on
Supergiant's Youtube page.
There is also
a presentation by Darren on how he made Bastion's soundtrack and sound designs despite having not many rescorces to work with. I highly recommend watching this, gave me even more respect for the guy.

i also adore the Octopath Traveler ost!! Battle at Journey's End is probably my favorite in the game, but the version with
For Succor + Battle at Journey's End is probably my favorite version of the character themes leading into the battle music
Granblue Fantasy is one of my favorite games and it has sooo much good music!! a couple of my favorites would probably have to be

Any and all tavern music from The Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and World of Warcraft (and other games) are just lovely. You can find multiple playlists on youtube if you search for "fantasy tavern playlist" :') Other favourites are:
S4 League - Chaser theme (DJ MAX - Nano Risk)
Machinarium - The Robot Band Song
Star Fox - Corneria
Corneria SSBU Remix
Spyro 3 - Buzz's Dungeon
Spyro Reignited - Buzz's Dungeon
Zelda Skyward Sword - Fi's Theme
I will keep singing the praise of
Dark Souls and
Darkest Dungeon soundtracks till I'm blue in the face. They're just so *clenches fist* freakin' GOOD! My favorites from DS would be the
Gaping Dragon and
Ornstein and Smough themes (tho the
Iron Golem theme is up there too), and from DD I'd pick
Battle in the Warrens,
Cove Battle, and
Town in Chaos.
If visual novel osts count too, I love
Sweet Pool's soundtrack as well! Which is kinda strange, because it used to grate on me when I first played... Like, it just sounded like noise at first, but it really stick and grew on me ^^ Perhaps it's an acquired taste? Who knows. My favorite songs from it are
Instinct,
Lust, and one of the endings -
The Hunger (tho that may have to do with the character it's connected with... idk XD).

the witcher 3 is known for having a fantastic soundtrack, and it does, but i really think
the witcher 1 has just as good of an ost and that it deserves more attention
i also listen to
maple treeway from the mario kart ost obsessively but that's neither here nor there
