so for ages the only hbo show ie ever watched was game of thrones (a huge shock, i know), but i recently picked up an hbo subscription and i'd love to explore more of the shows they have on offer, because i've heard some really good things!

i'm currently almost done with succession (which is a bit hard to get into, but very interesting!) and i'm a few eps into westworld. yes, i'm super behind the ball, but better late than never? lmao

what are you watching on there? what's good? was there anything you hated? lemme know, i need more binge options in my life! :>

a star sign out of whack.
the pacific and band of brothers, hands down. very well put together and just amazing to watch (although that might just be me speaking, i love war history in general). both are about world war two. the pacific focuses on the americans in the pacific theatre against japan and band of brothers focuses on easy company in the US military during the war. both are based on true events and include commentary from the actual veterans.

i watched the first episode of chernobyl and it was pretty good, and i heard that it had really good reviews, so that might be worth watching as well.

Evening all!

Sharing shows to watch is great but please keep in mind that HBO and other stations like it can often have content that is not suitable for FR's boards.

Please keep the rules in mind when you make suggestions. Thanks!

I'm watching Deadwood at the moment.

I'm having a nice time.

Other HBO shows I've watched are Game of Thrones which... started off well and fell right into the toilet, and Westworld, which I super like, because ... well, androids and yeehaw. Also Hector, haha.

@ACWN does that mean we now can't mention shows that have any content not suitable for FR, or that we just can't go into detail about said content, like usual?

UK time. Sorry for timezone-related delays in responses. They/Them.
@Greyjoy

Just don't go into detail. If it's a show you can discuss without breaking the rules, you're good.

I'm watching Deadwood at the moment (mostly because of CR's UnDeadwood mini series) and while it won't be a favourite show of mine, it certainly keeps the intrigue high. I want to watch the Sopranos after hearing so much of it during my childhood.

In reality, having HBO for 'free' at my university has given me the ability to watch shows I've had zero access to, yet the finicky internet makes it difficult. A no-win situation in my eyes.

I haven’t watched much beyond Game of Thrones and I’d only recommend it if you don’t watch the last season because, yeah, it sucked. And D&D knows it does too.

I only know shows that like...previously aired on HBO so I'm not sure if they're still there but definitely Carnivale, and Six Feet Under! I've also heard Gentleman Jack is really good, and His Dark Materials looks great.
