A month ago I decided to go on a low carb diet and besides that I'm fasting 16 hours a day. I used to be 115 kilo and now after a month I lost 5 of them and I'm now 109,8.
I love it, I can feel it in my clothes and I have more energy already.
The reason that I write this here though is because I need to rant a little bit. Although my diet works for me, and I'm glad about it, my colleagues just think it's a laughing matter. I work in a kitchen, so basicly I'm there all day. I have lunch and dinner over there and at first they were alright with helping me with my diet and all that and give me some things I was allowed. But today one of the chefs really slapped me in the face with some words.
Another colleague from the kitchen is also losing weight and his diet is different than mine. He's doing it for 2 months and lost 10 kilo's. So the thing the Chef said to me today was: At least 'he' is doing something about it. I can't really see that you are working for it. He is at least trying.
It was just so mean and honestly I walked away because I felt very teared eyed. I have been trying for a month with result! to lose weight. And then someone comes by and said that I wasn't trying hard enough only because I allowed myself one juice a day during lunch. The only thing that is my 'treat' of the day and he was talking bad about it that I wasn't working hard enough.
I know that drink has some sugar in it, I know that. But honestly low carb is not always nice and with my lunch I just need something tasty. I don't take any candy or anything besides that and it's only one small cup of that drink. I'm still losing weight so it's not stopping me. It hurts that he said that and I just had to share it with someone because I'm upset about it and my convident went down for doing my diet due to those words.
Why is it that if you are not doing a diet people complain about it? But the moment you do something about it people still complain that it isn't enough?
Sorry for this rant, I just had to share. I'm not sure what to do at the moment due to it and I'm genuinely hurt due to what was said.

I just want to say that it's awesome that you're already seeing results with a lifestyle change that works for you. What your coworker said to you isn't okay, and it's not healthy to push someone to make drastic changes quickly--especially when it comes to losing weight. In fact, if you lose weight too quickly, you are more likely to regain it. But it can also be very strenuous to your body.
Please continue to make dietary changes at a pace that is comfortable and healthy for you. Those jerks at your work don't know what they are talking about. Attaining a healthy lifestyle is something that must be cultivated over time. If you try to change your lifestyle too quickly, you may end up rejecting the changes because it is too difficult to stick to them.
Don't let what other people say stop you from pursuing your goals. And definitely do not let them turn dieting into some kind of competition.
Your coworkers sound dumb.
Professional opinion.

First off, congrats on your progress! I've been doing WW since July and it's been a journey...there's a lot people don't tell you about losing weight and it's not all good.
Honestly, the best thing I've done for myself is practicing seeing my progress without the help of other people. It's not easy and I've had setbacks, but as you've learned, people are mean. Some people will never be happy with what you do, probably because they're not happy with themselves.
As long as you're happy and seeing results, be proud of yourself. Only a month in and you're killing it!

Sometimes people see others making a change, taking a stand, succeeding, etc. and it forces them to look at their own insecurities and way of living, so they lash out to protect themselves. It's the same reason you'll see so much irrational hatred toward vegans and such. It's beyond petty.
Kudos to you for taking the steps you need to lose weight! Any progress is an accomplishment, and you shouldn't let your spiteful coworker bring you down. Steady change is sustainable change, and if this diet helps you lose weight and eat healthier in the long term I think it's a huge win. You should be proud of being healthier.
I also fast! I do 18:6 usually, though sometimes I push it to 20:4. I'm not necessarily trying to lose weight but it's an incredibly effective method of getting me to plan out my meals and eat healthier. I'm so impressed that you're doing low carb too, that must take some serious self control!
Keep it up, I'm rooting for you! [emoji=new friend size=1]

First thing: congrats on your progress! It's an enormous step just to take the initiative to change your way of eating. And it is working for you! Everyone has something different to say about dieting but the best diet is the one that works for you.
Second thing: your coworkers are idiots and they undoubtedly have self-serving reasons for saying mean things (e.g. jealousy, insecurity, whatever) so try not to take it to heart. Sure, that's easier said than done, but try to remember their opinions are truly worthless. Only you know what is best for you. I mean, a doctor's opinion might carry
some weight, but even then, they can be wrong, and your coworkers aren't doctors so pfft.
My experience with diets: I went vegetarian way back in 2001 for ethical reasons more so than health ones, but suddenly discovered I was losing weight and getting healthier too (some nutritional deficiencies cleared up), so that was an added bonus that kept me motivated. I have been veg ever since. A couple years ago, I tried vegan keto for purely health reasons (my first time attempting to actually lose weight) and lost over 40 pounds in 4 months...I felt amazing and I never felt starved or deprived or anything. But it's kind of expensive and hard to maintain...a bunch of family dinners at restaurants derailed me. I'd like to get back on it again but as much as I know I enjoyed it...starting is the hardest part. So I commend anyone who takes that first step because I know how hard it is. And keeping it up is even harder, especially in the face of adversity from jerkfaces who just don't want to see someone else succeeding...but you can do it! Remember that success is the best revenge.

Hey @
Yasashiku!
I hope this isn't too much of a personal thing to recommend, I'd like to invite you to check out the intuitive eating lifestyle :>
So much of what we hear about health, beauty and fitness boils down to the opinion that larger bodies are something to be rid of and escape from if we want to be happy and health
This simply isn't the case. The truth is that weight loss simply isn't sustainable long-term, nor is it a measure of how strong or succesful a person is
If you'd like to unlearn the diet mentaility and diet culture,
here and
here are two really good studies to get you started. I'd also like to reccomend the
Food Psych Podcast (can be found of Spotify etc!) and Christy Harisson's
Instagram
Don't let diet culture define you!
Feel free to block if I've annoyed you, I'd understand XD

People become gatekeepers when it comes to health.
If you're losing weight by cutting calories, they'll say "How can you lose weight when you're still eating carbs??!!?? That won't work!" or "The only way to lose weight is to follow (X) fad diet!"
You're losing weight by doing cardio excercises? Then it's "Cardio doesn't work. Only strength training and weight lifting will do anything!" (You can flip that the other way too.)
People will give you crap about EVERYTHING when it comes to health. No matter what you're doing, you're doing it wrong in their eyes.
Realistically, the best thing you can do is stick to what works for you. If someone thinks you're following a certain diet, just agree with them. I've tried to tell people my actual diet before and then they start critiquing me so.... /shrug

I agree strongly with @
Porkpie747 - and Im sorry others are nitpicking you based on what you eat.

I dislike that people get all uppity at those eating a certain way, or such things. I just plain don't like to eat a lot because of a weird (And I mean 'weird') medical thing I went through in highschool/college, and people look at me weird, and have quite a lot to say about eating habits around me. And act certain ways around me. I've gotten used to it, seeing as it's been around 13 years that I've eaten in my weird ways. But it was hard to get used to.
But as long as you're happy you're losing weight. Keep at it, and stand your ground. :>

People are so judgy about diet and weight. Honestly. I've been losing weight recently due to a new medication that has made me less hungry. I'm not doing a special diet and I still eat what I want (generally healthy but I like sweets). The look I get from some people sometimes. Yes, I'm a fat woman. Yes, I'm eating this chocolate. it is none of your business. It is my life, my body, I get to choose what I eat. I'm allowed to eat something I enjoy sometimes.
