Talk about the Rise of Skywalker here or any other Star Wars movies!! I have a LOT to say about ep. 9, and the first thing is... The hecking reylo. This is my literal WORST NIGHTMARE COME TRUE. Just... Why?! w h y?!?!?!?! In my head right before the scene my brain was like: "DONT YOU FING DARE!" and then... Oh, phew. I thought it would happen. and then... just kill me already. I facepalmed in the theater and made a disgusted face... Another thing I want to say about it is that I'm certain Finn has the force. There were so many times he had a "feeling" about something that he wouldn't know about, like that Rey almost died from the Emperor or that the star destroyer had the controlling antenna thing. Also, he said to rey that there was something he needed to tell Rey but he never did, and I feel like he was going to say he thinks he has the Force. There were a few times where Finn could have used the force or told someone he had the force but oh no, they just had leave it like that... Waaaaah I feel like he had a good amount of screen time but he didn't really do much... Idk I also think that Jannah is related to Lando, but Lando said "let's find out" about who Jannah is, but how would he do that?? lol kinda weird I think it's cool that Leia had a lightsaber, and trains with Luke, and also Rey's lightsaber looks pretty cool, and it's made of parts from her staff. Also orange like how you can make it in the Jedi Fallen Order game. I like that all the main characters had about equal screen time, (unlike tlj... Blech) and also rey was really good in this movie. But when I first heard Kylo say Rey was a palpatine I was like "wow, sure buddy... " But a few seconds later I was like "oh... OH" lololol When I first saw rumors and theories about Rey palpatine I thought it would never happen and it was ugly... But here we are and it's real! I also like that she took the Skywalker name and Luke kinda gave it too her?? And also cool that Leia can be a force ghost. But yeah, it was a good ending for the movie. Palpatine really DID have unlimited power, when he electrocuted the ships on Exicle. He also seemed "creepy" at the first scene when he's talking to Kylo. Also, when Rey is fighting the emperor, she did the Mace Windu because she deflected the lighting with a lightsaber on to palpatine like how Mace did.

The movie was great, i had a great time in the cinema with my friends. Loved all the characters and characters arcs, especially Finn and Poe. My bois got so much screen time in this movie, I loved every second of it. :D

Would have loved to see more of Reys whole emotional arc she lived through this movie, that was super interesting and captivating!

Don't really have any criticism of the movie, other that I'm sad they killed off Ben when he had just found a little bit of happiness. But I get why they did it lol.

oh man i agree with you on the r*ylo thing,, kind of,,, and i'm not trying to dismiss the obviously problematic abusive nature of the relationship ren and rey have had over the three films but,, it was ben solo that kissed rey, not kylo ren. and bless adam drivers huge broad shoulders for carrying the entire emotional climax of this movie on them?? i think the themes around identity and free will really culminated in what ben solo decided to do with what he maybe knew would be the final moments of his life. ben solo is a hero and deserved better and this is a hill i'm willing to die on.

i think that it's been accepted to the collective fanon that finn is force sensitive and even though the films didn't explicitly confirm that there's enough evidence to support it so you're absolutely right.

ghfjkhd lando's 'let's find out' sounds like a very intentional set-up for a spin-off film or something and i hope that isn't the case bc that'd be kinda cheap i think.

the main takeaway from rots was that uh,,, palpatine had Game™

but yeah i really enjoyed it! rots leaned heavily into the feeling of nostalgia many of us have come to associate with star wars having grown up with the story and i didn't mind that at all ! i cried like four times
i would also like to thank john williams (and the editors) for delivering on the music front once again???epic is an understatement

I don't know why so many people seemed to hate it? Personally I found it enjoying, and I didn't like the new characters from 7 and 8 very much. At least this one made me want to know what would happen next- also space fights!!

A lot of people said it was "fanservice" and yeah, that's what it is, but it's also what we wanted and an enjoyable movie. Everybody that died should have died and there was a rather good antagonist.

The only problem is that they should have set this stuff up in the last two movies! They could have had something good here!

I loved Rise of Skywalker. I wasn't expecting much so I'm happy with what we got.

Finn being Force sensitive makes my heart sing. I had the headcanon that he was ever since Force Awakens and now I know for sure that it's true and I've never been so proud.

I never really shipped Reylo, but I do think Kylo/Ben deserved better. However, watching him finally switch sides? Amazing. And of course it's Rey who helps him through that... her kindness and mercy literally changes hearts and it's great to see that in action. That's one of my favorite scenes. I'm sad Ben died but I feel like he had to. That climax was nearing the end of his story and that's that.

Also Rey is an adopted Skywalker now so 10/10 on that

I did not like the movie very much.

I HATED raylo. I actually said "no" in a tone none too hushed out loud in the theater.

I feel like they just threw in a bunch of stuff, had a bunch of fakeout deaths, and so on and so forth. like, that last scene where no one knew if rey or kylo was dead, and then they both were like HA JK IM ALIVE B**** BUT GUESS WHAT IM DEAD NOW HA HA ISNT THIS MAKING SENSE????

idk, I didn't like it very much. this is the only star wars movie, uncluding the prequels, that I've walked away feeling disappointed. my brother put it very well when he said that as a star wars movie it was meh/bad, but as a movie it was okay.

it was one of those movies that all you want is know what happens but you want the movie to be over. the dagger and the wayfinder or whatever it was were very foced, along with the "rey is a palatine" thing. They left a lot of unanswered questions such as LEIA WAS TRAINING TO BE A JEDI??? they opened up a while lot of plotlines and never explained everything.

if they had slowed down the action and fakeout deaths, and actually bothered to explain anything, such as how rey knew to take the dagger to the death star corpse (and how she knew where the death star corpse was), match it up with the outline of the space ruin, and go there, or why Leia was training to be a jedi, or any of the plotlines they opened, it could have been a much better movie. also, rey should have turned to the sith.

they did that thing again that I hate, where the bad guy HAS to die to win the war, but they act like killing them would make you an awful no good person, even though they have to die. that's one of my only problems with star wars, is how unforgiving the force is in terms of killing the people who have to die.

a lot of things just seemed way to convenient for the plot. they tried to hard to make everyone happy, and a lot seemed very forced (no pun intended).

all in all, walking away from the movie I was disappointed.

also, this probably makes little to no sense, and I'm sorry for that.

I loved it! I have a few things to nitpick here and there, but I thought it tied up a lot of loose ends well. It felt a bit rushed to me (very little downtime to dwell on things), but it had to close up the saga. I was very confused as to why Leia had to die... But I suppose that was the only way to really 'touch' Ben's heart? Then I was confused by the Han-ghost. But I suppose that's just all of Ben's guilt summoning him? Finn being force-sensitive also takes my heart[emoji=familiar heart size=1]. I'm so happy for him. Leia being shown to be Jedi training was also great!! We knew that she was Force-sensitive from the original series, and I'm so thankful that they expanded on that (if only a little)!! She was also born from one of the most powerful Force users out there and deserves more Force screen time. SO!! I would like to explain a pet theory of mine on the topic of Palpatine having 'children'. I've been waiting to talk about this theory so desperately, but my IRL friends haven't seen the movie yet. In the canon books, Palpatine essentially raises hordes of orphans all over the galaxy. He manufactured the war, he resulted in numerous amount of war orphans, and he's putting them all to good use. Palpatine has a habit of approaching orphans, promising them whatever (power, protection, shelter, etc.) in exchange for their services. What are their services? In the case of Galliux Rax, he promised him power in exchange for Galli guarding his Jakku base and later carrying out his will to bring the First Order back into the galaxy. Palpatine also utilized the many orphans on Coruscant to become his own private service of eyes and ears throughout the planet. Palpatine also had a very good thing with Anakin, his Force-bred 'child'. Out of creating Anakin via the Force and Schmi, Palpatine got ~50 years of excellent service out of Anakin/Vader. So why wouldn't he do it again, but also to perfect his craft? So my theory was this: Rey is a Force baby. Palpatine raised orphans to become 'host' parents, then Force-impregnated them to get powerful Force-bred children out of them. I feel like it isn't within Palpatine's character to have relations with any women, so I feel like this theory is very fitting of his character. Overall, I'm glad the story wrapped up. Anakin mucked up way too much to have this much influence for decades. It's time we just leave his legacy be.

Leia died probably because she, like Luke, transcended a massive amount of space to interact with other people. Unlike Luke, who was on his island, healthy and tbh free of most responsibility, she was stressed. She had gotten badly hurt in the previous fight, she was tired, and using that power to speak to him was hard on her

I'll miss her character (I dedicated my birthday dragon to her)

Anyways though!

Mostly loved the movie

Hated the kiss at the end

The kiss SHOULD HAVE been between Finn and Poe. Rey and Kylo should've just hugged.

I'll add more when I'm not on mobile lol

I really enjoyed the music and environment of it! The atmosphere of everywhere in the movie was stunning and felt amazing
The start felt a bit rushed, they just instantly got the message and went 'yep doing that now'
I kind of would have preferred if Rey really just was a nobody but maybe that's just me, and it was like 'you don't have to be related to some powerful person to have the true spirit of a jedi'
Reylo is ehhh but I kind of knew that was going to happen,
The bit with the horses and such literally over-running the space-ship was quite funny!
Overall, it was an okay movie, I felt it was a bit cliché-d but I enjoyed its music and atmosphere a lot, I kind of guessed most twists that were going to happen

Whispers from back of theater: i like reylo

In all seriousness though— the whole healing thing would of been so much more useful if it had been used in previous films, it felt like a dues ex machina after the second time.
I love the idea of Finn being force sensitive, I wish that that idea had been explored more, but sigh.
The new droid was adorable!!! Such a cute addition, bringing in the whole droids have feelings too.
Loved the parallels from the old movies to now— Luke pulling his x-wing out of the water, the double sunset at the end, the fight on the Death Star wreckage, the dark Rey cave/vault scene.
Also loved the lightsaber pass, how Rey just hands Ben a saber via the force and he gives the smirk when the guards realize what just happened.
Loved Lando returning, I always have wondered what happened to him after The Empire Strikes Back.
Also thought it was cool when Kylo switched side, proved that Yoda was wrong about when you start down the dark path, you can’t come back.

Overall, 10/10 would see again and purchase disk
