I am going to be trying to defeat this game (I have never done so)
You can tell me helpful advice but please no spoilers about the story
( I'm okay if you do thought it's not that big of a deal)
( I might ask questions sometimes like What to name a pokemon, What to do, How to do something, etc)

Ooh, I love that game! What Pokemon did you get as your avatar and partner?
My only advice is to make sure you keep some Pokemon trained up that will help you with type disadvantages. It can be difficult if both you and your partner are weak to the same type, so make sure you have a pokemon that can help you through dungeons. Also, utilize stats moves! For example, I always found that a pokemon that knows smokescreen can be insanely helpful on bosses because of the whiffer status.

omg good luck!! i love the PMD games so much :D
i havent played Red/Blue in a while, so idk much advice for it specifically, but if link moves are a thing in that game definitely use them! Its a feature in explorers series, when you use one move it automatically uses another one thats been linked to it.
tbh the only thing that really helps when you get stuck in PMD is to keep trying! even the toughest dungeons will get better the longer you try! leveling up is my top strategy xP! and have fun :D

similar to what the others have said, when you're not locked into story dungeons, take the time to do lots of missions, to train up teammates and gather items.

yeeess the pmd games are so good!!
definitely do as many missions as you can! it'll help your levels and you'll get a lot of money + items this way. you can also go to makuhita's dojo to grind levels.
the kecleon brothers can sell some cool stuff (tms, reviver seeds, oran berries, gummis, etc) so check in with them regularly.

Thought I’d restate some tips here.
-Take advantage of opportunities to level grind when you aren’t forced into the plot!
-Make sure you and/or your partner have at least one good distance attack(you don’t have to worry about this until later).
-And along the way, make sure you recruit at least one good ghost type pokemon(a late game thing)
-Every opportunity you get, stockpile reviver seeds for the endgame. Check the shops every day and buy them if you can.
-Frequently clean your storage to get cash. The items I would keep are oran berries, apples, blast seeds(for bosses), escape orbs, and orbs that incapacitate enemies in rooms. These are just my personal preferences so feel free to do what you want.
Hope these help!

treecko's a cool choice for sure, it gets a grass type move fairly early on which will help cover cubone's weakness [emoji=banescale happy size=2]
