Hi!
Hollow Knight is my favourite game, in fact Quirrel is one of my favourite characters after Hornet (can't wait for Silksong to come out, it's gunna be amazing).
It's such a shame that whenever I talk about it almost no-one seems to have heard of it, so it's awesome to hear someone who loves the game as much as I do!

there's
an existing hub for hk fans, i haven't visited it myself for fear of spoilers but there's plenty of people on there

LilliesAndRoses I have the PC version so I can't say how the gameplay would be like on Xbox exactly. you're pretty much alternating between exploration and fighting things constantly, and it's pretty fun discovering new places. the bossfights as hard though, and the difficulty goes up pretty quickly imo. the game also doesn't really give you any headers on where to go so you're meant to try and figure it out yourself. in short: you have no purpose, find purpose. the art and music is amazing too, and i have bought the ost along with the game itself.

*raises hand* me! It's one of my favorite games of all time, it reminds me of the really good SNES games I played as a kid like Kirby Superstar and Yoshi's Island. Hornet and Myla are my favorite characters.

It's an action-platformer metroidvania. That means the controls are simple: there's attack, a long-range spell attack, jump, run, dash, and heal. The game gives you plenty of opportunity to practice and learn the controls. You can also add special abilities with charms; if you've ever played a Paper Mario game, charms are like the badges from that series.
Metroidvania means that, like Notepad said, you aren't given much direction. The idea is that you explore the world and find its mysteries—and there are plenty of satisfying mysteries to be found in the game! The world is so beautiful that I will still walk around just to tour the sights, even though I have 300+ hours in the game. And, don't worry, they give you a map and a few ways to mark important places on it. So you don't have to bust out the graph paper and make your own, lol.
However, it can be a very hard game. It's hard but fair. The devs designed it so that you feel like you had options to avoid a hit until the very last moment.
Also, when you die then a ghost appears in the place you last died. It holds all of your money. If you die again before you reach it, then you lose all of your money. A lot of people have complained about that, lol, so I thought you should know before you start.

Eyy! I actually just bought the game yesterday and I've been enjoying it a lot so far. Though I'm currently stuck on the parkour part from Fungal Wastes to City of Tears.

I love hollow knight so much. I thought I disliked platformers because of mainstream games like Mario Brothers being so repetitive, however Hollow Knight is something else. Everything I love, good art, good music, good gameplay, good characters-
I'm learning a lot of hollow knight pieces on piano and violin too because there's so many pretty pieces. Games which have strings and piano in it are definitely of my favour, and listening to the music in the game inspires me to go back to practising. I'm so busy with college and things I need to find the time to go back to playing it again. : )

GiantPandroid you just brought back war flashbacks, not gonna lie. it's one nasty bit of parkour.
as for myself, i'm mostly through the game. working my way through the more difficult DLC parts, post-game. my aim here is take it slow, i take time to learn but when i do i've got something nailed.
i'm also working on a bunch of fandragons for the game. in particular, i recently hatched a boy with the perfect colours for a certain troupemaster.
though if anyone can give me tips for fighting godhome uumuu i'd greatly appreciate it
