What do you think? Update 1 (Spinoffs): [spoiler] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for Switch (it's a remake of red and blue) [/spoiler] Update 2 (SwSH): [spoiler]Sword and Shield expansion passes. 2 new islands (1 for each version) -Islands are maps like the Wild Area -new Bear Pokemon (legendary) -new Pokemon that sort of looks like a psychic plant rabbit deer? (legendary) -Gigantamax forms for the starters -Added some old favorites, Venusaur, Blastoise with Gigantamax forms -New (galarian?) forms for the legendary birds -Galarian Slowpoke, Slowbro, Slowking -Co-op "dungeon raid" mode that will allow you to catch previous legendaries[/spoiler] [u]Warning: Uncovered spoilers and discussion from this point onward...[/u] I'm very excited to see Pokemon Mystery Dungeon make it onto the Switch. I'm miffed about the DLC. ~~I don't think it's a cool decision to gate the pokedex behind DLC/Home and the removal of the Nat Dex almost seems planned now.~~ Ignore this, I'm dumb. For other Nintendo games with DLC (BOTW, Splatoon2, etc) it really felt like they were adding more content on top of an already complete game, but this content feel like it would just actually justify the game being $60.

And honestly I don't mind the DLC at all, but I'll wait until further info is released to form a final opinion on DLC over new game! Either way, I'll buy it so....... it seems worth it regardless already!

Hmm yeah I can understand that. If the initial release of SwSh felt better, this would be a celebrated decision instead of an eyebrow raising one.

I do believe Pokemon, given it's strict release schedule is one of the few games that could actually make good use of a DLC expansion based model, but the circumstances... not a good look.

I have some questions as to the cost too, if SwSH had been released at a lesser price tag and then we got this, again, things would be a-okay, but SwSH costs as much as a full release and this seems like it's going to be $30. That's going to make people feel like they've paid $90 for the "complete" package... oof

We're actually really excited!! PMD1 was a huuuge part of our childhood, and honestly probably saved our life a bit. Unfortunately the internet here doesn't work on my switch for some reason, but I might go out just to download the demo! I do hope that they'll expend on the story for PMD! Although it was great, the original game was kind of short and so I'm hoping they might add more. I'm also thinking of my personal favorite PMD theory where that's the world were the events of RSE sent their meteor to (since in ORAS that was prevented and it's implied in RSE it wasn't), and it might be a longshot but honestly that has a lot of fun lore potential. Also I'm curious about the Pokemon they'll have as the starters, but I haven't played the demo yet! I hope they'll keep Psyduck at least though, trying to get Psyduck when replaying PMD was a fun challenge. I also really, really hope they keep the friend areas because legit we used to spend hours in there, and I would Love to see them remastered in 3D. I am also kind of excited for the Pokemon expansion pass, I actually would prefer that to having brand new games since the third installments always kind of feel like dlc anyway haha, I do wish they weren't as expensive though. I actually really love the designs for the new Regis and legendary birds in particular, and honestly Pokemon lore has always excited us so I'm curious what they'll do this time! From the story perspective I'm wondering if they'll revisit the other characters? With the new rivals they seem to definitely be parallels to Marnie/Bede, so I wonder if we'll meet them in the Isle of Armor too since Bede is already technically a gym leader and it's implied Marnie might be "next in line", and it would make sense to meet them in gym leader training. I also kind of think it's neat they're letting us have a Slowpoke to start, but I kind of wonder what the big mystery is behind Slowbro and Slowking. Super excited though!! Hyped for the Mystery Dungeon game. I loved those games so seeing them come back is awesome. Now we just need another Shadow Pokemon game...

As for the DLC for SwSh.....Yeah, I won't put what I think about that because, quite frankly, I don't want a banhammer to the face.
