Hello fellow shiny hunters!
Although i've been playing Pokemon since gen 3 i never found any shiny until i first hunted for one in Pokemon sun using the sos method.
My first shiny was a shiny beldum that actually had pokerus.
anyways, since then i've gotten shiny arcanine, vikavolt, salamance, lucario, malamar, sylveon, carbink(my first full random pokemon), machamp(don't ask me why), lycanrock and smeargle (which i found looking for a good smeargle to use to find other shinys so sorta random).
And now i'm soft resetting for a shiny gen 6 starter.
any of you on the hunt right now?
(i don't count UW shinys which i have all of)

I tried my hand at shiny hunting for a while (back when I still had motivation to do anything other than Sleep). My first shiny encounter was a Pawniard in Pokemon White. Also, I randomly encountered a shiny Skarmory in Pokemon Sun.
I've tried to hunt for Riolu, Rockruff, and Starly. I tried to egg hatch a shiny Rowlet. All without success. My only successful shiny hunt has been for a Tentacool, lol. I should probably get back into it!

i've been slacking as of late, and with sw/sh out i need to step up my game. my total is ~50 shinies, mainly consisting of masuda hatches, sos calls and legendary srs. as of such, i'm not gonna name 'em all. highlights are 3 full (gen6+) odds random encounters, one full odds sr, a dexnav hunt shiny, two back-to-back full (charm) odds sos calls (11 and 8 calls respectively) and a legend in ~20 encounters.

current and planned hunts? type:null, stakataka, yveltal, dusk lycanroc, tepig and low-key toxicity, to name the top ones in the list.
and i also don't count wt and uw shinies in that list. still on the fence about max raid ones (of which i have three very good pokemon), as you still have to battle and catch the pokemon in question, although with online the encounter technically isn't yours. they're about halfway on my 'legitimately earned' scale, which is good enough for me.

Oh wow, thats a fanatastic first shiny. Those are some pretty darn good shinies to start out with. If you do get back into it than good luck!

Wow, lots of shinies! My brother before ever shiny hunting which he has done twice, has accumulated 6 full random shinies in the games before gen 6 which is crazy.

Shiny hunting is basically my endgame in pokemon, I've got over 200 now, I think? (All personally caught and no ultra wormholes counted in that.) A lot of them are doubles cause I really like having them in specific apricorn balls lmaoo
My first ever shiny was in gen 5, a random encounter Zebstrika while I was playing through the story during some downtime at school. I screamed really loudly when I saw the sparkles and all my friends crowded around me to see me shake as I tried to catch it. Still have it with me to this day! I didn't really get super into shiny hunting til gen 7 though, and that's where the vast majority of my collection currently lives.
Currently I'm doing MM + shiny charm hatches in SwSh to get my fave shinies of the latest gen while doing a shiny badge quest/dream team quest hybrid playthrough in HGSS as I hatch. Been trying to get a shiny Staryu for the better part of a month now and am at three shiny Tentacool for my troubles... In that time I've gotten seven or so shinies in SwSh @

The one after that was a full odds random encounter shiny Ledyba I caught while I was looking for a Yungoos so I could get a full IV foreign ditto through some GSS giveaway someone was doing because I thought I should make an effort to improve my odds of finding more shinies. I screamed when I saw it, not gonna lie. I gave him to a friend when I got bored of my save and restarted it. Never did catch that Yungoos...
After that was two UW shinies in a row, like i got in the wormhole once, caught a shiny Medicham, got back in the wormhole, caught a shiny crustle. I know UW shinies are really easy but getting two in a row felt like an achievement...
Right now, I have a pretty long queue of pokemon I need to shiny hunt, and I'm on egg 357 on my Impidimp hunt because I lov Grimmsnarl, and I'm masuda methoding him. After this lad comes Zigzagoon and Sobble, then a plethora of others.
-- also a full odds magikarp in my heartgold, you can imagine how disappointed i was that it was my first in that game. --
