My Stance
I'd like to change how I come off in the start of this, I'm not an avid FE fan, and I don't see myself playing all the games and whatnot, but that's not why I'm upset about the DLC!
I've read all of what people have said in this thread ad it's changed my mind a little in all honesty.
The character has a little bit of unique appeal, but I'm still kinda bummed about it not being some other character that could have been a lot different and could have represented some other game series.
The point of Smash is to celebrate games as Sakurai himself pointed out after all. And it seems like FE gets an overwhelming amount of that love and celebration?
Personally I was rooting for Sora, but i guess he still maybe has a chance.
Keep in mind when I say this, that Kingdom Hearts games have been on Nintendo consoles before so its not too much of a long-shot :3
I only hope the next 6 DLC characters aren't all sword fighters :/
(Because I personally don't play as many of them, and want something a little out of the ordinary brought to the table)

At least they are trying to not make them a pure sword fighter? Still, sword seems to be the default. Damn shame.
The thing about the Fire Emblem franchise is, there is so many more options than just swords they could've chosen. And it's one more reason why Robin is my favourite of the FE-fighters. And, I'm saying this even as someone who liked Awakening, Lucina and Chrom were already utterly unnesserary.
Personally, I would've liked a manakete entirely in dragon form (not whatever that is what Corrin is doing); or even a rider. Horse, Wyvern, Pegasus, doesn't matter, but it would've brought something more unique to the table.
Cuphead mii is good though, I strongly agree.

Honestly with the popularity of Three Houses and the history of the series with Smash, I don't understand why people are so surprised.
Lucina, Roy, and Chrom should have been alt costumes, at most, yes. But also so should Doctor Mario, one of the little Links, Dark Pit and Dark Samus. FE is just the most noticeable symptom of a general roster issue.
