This was random, but I don't have anything better to do since they closed school for the rest of the year and everyone is under quarantine. Simple question: Do you like birds, Which one is your favorite, and do you have any yourself. My bird addiction got me on this one :p

Oh gosh birds are amazing! I currently have 8 birds in my house right now, they're all my brothers, but they're really sweet. We have 3 greencheek conures (2 pineapples and 1 normal), 2 cockatiels, 1 rescue goffins cockatoo, and 2 cayuga ducklings at the moment.

My favorite bird though is tied between swans and puffins, but for domestic breeds it'd definitely have to be the silkie chicken.

I love birds so much! Unfortunately I cannot have one until I move out of my parents house. :(
My favorite bird as a pet would be a cockatiel, they’re so cute and seem easy enough to care for. Also I really love their lil cheeks!
But my all time favorite birb is the kiwi bird from New Zealand! I studied it for a project in like third grade and got attached ever since, and I actually went to a zoo and got to pet one before! Pretty sure it’s the only captive kiwi in the U.S... it was very cute. They also run incredibly stupid and I just love them so, so much

My favourite bird? Whichever one I'm currently looking at :P But if I had to pick one to get... I dunno, as a tattoo, it would be the Scarlet Hawaiian Honeycreeper, or 'i'iwi. I love them so much. I have yet to see one in person, but I hope to visit Hawai'i again in the future to get a chance. I'm also just a big fan of crows, pigeons, and all the birds your average person wouldn't give a second thought to. We forget just how amazing it is that these animals have adapted so well to us messy humans. And, fun fact, crows have regional accents. I live in the American midwest (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, etc.), and I went and visited Washington state over last Thanksgiving. My mind was blown when I realised that not only were the crows in Washington physically smaller, but they also had higher pitched caws! My hypothesis is that they're smaller in Washington because the northwest has much milder seasons than the midwest, thus there is less need to minimise surface area. White-tailed deer in the midwest are also much larger than white-tailed deer in the south, so it's not limited to crows. I'm currently eagerly waiting for the spring migrants to reach my area so I can go birdwatching and silently baby-talk a bunch of wood warblers haha. My favourite warbler is definitely the Common Yellowthroat. The males have this adorable mask I just can't get enough of. Hi :) I'm flierflys
Birbs are great. I love hummingbirds. Once I had one land on my hat and it was magical. Sadly it couldn't get a good perch so it flew away shortly. I also once saw a hummingbird get punched by a bumble bee.

Cool! I currently have 9 birds that my friend @YeetYeetBrib on hold for me: Summer is my Green Cheek Conure, a yellow-sided turquoise mutation, and I also have 7 lovebirds as well! 2 Blue Masked, 2 Fischer's, & 3 Peach Faced Dutch Blues! Also, a baby barn owl that I will use for falconry at some point called Kin. As for my favorite bird, it would have to be a Masked Lovebird. I just think that they are so pretty! I do also have a favorite YouTube parrot (Max the Moluccan, anyone?). Summer is a rescue as well, she was taken from the wild as a baby with her siblings, she was neglected by her owner, and was tossed out to the snow with her brother, who died a few hours later. As she is a wild-caught, she will be a bit on the loud and nippy side, but she is really sweet and is hand tame despite all this! :)

Well, I can't actually get the birds that are on hold for me until my parents (mostly my mom) get entranced in how adorable they are. :p Sometimes it's how it works. I do keep showing videos of baby lovebirds to my mom, and she thinks they are adorable! The reason I want to do this is because my mom won over my dad when we got our now 11 month old puppy, Phoebe. I also keep telling her about Summer, and I can tell she's interested! :3 In the time you have until you move out, I suggest researching about which bird is best for you (if you haven't already cuz you know, that would be creepy if I knew) and look more into that specific bird. Another thing to do is try to get this process faster by forcing them to watch videos of that bird in the cutest light possible (optional)! :3

I live on the Eastern side of the US, and guess what that means? COMMON GRACKLES TAKING OVER ALL THE FEEDERS! >:) Actually this is true especially during this time of year (when it's their nesting season ;) ) We get house sparrows, house finches, we used to get purple finches, goldfinches, FRIGGN GRACKLES, mourning doves, cardinals, black capped chickdees, and carolina wrens. We also sometimes get the occasional tufted titmouse, or dark eyed junco! (currently two male house finches and a female cardinal are at the feeder) I haven't been much of anywhere, so I really have only seen local birds, and occasionally a Red Tailed Hawk (or two!) and we even see bald eagles over here! :)

I have 5 laying hens and 15 chicks that need to be introduced to our flock (Polishes, a frizzle chicken, miscellaneous breeds). My hen is named Gretchen and she's darling for the most part. I also have two turkey chicks, but they're living separately because chickens are absolute savages and ripped one's upper beak off a week after we put them outside. (Don't worry! He's okay and recovering wonderfully! He was more scared than in pain. Went right back to being loud and happy when we put him in his old tub and cleaned him up.)
