TOPIC | editing fandom wikias
whyyy do I find it so relaxing?

unfortunately the wikias I really wanna edit for either need no help (the Flight Rising wikia) or they don't need help from newcomers in case they break the wiki (the Warrior Cat wikia)

I haven't edited wikias in a while, but I can relate! It's fun proofreading and seeing how the words flow together, as well as fact-checking.

There's a few times where I uploaded images here and there too. There's something cool about seeing something I know I personally touched up be used elsewhere.

it gives you the sense of accomplishment after finishing up an article!

Definitely! I remember doing a massive overhaul on a page once: it took some days to reformat and plug in more info, but it was great when I finished! Especially since the whole article didn't get reverted at all! It was one of my biggest worries at first since that was a huge leap.

I honestly think the above is always terrifying to do, especially for multiple pages.

What do you prefer to do? Small edits, or a bunch at once?

@Nesu
honestly i'm leaning towards a bunch at once, I like fixing typos/small edits and all but editing a bunch at once is so much more satisfying

it's like, really addictive. like. way too addictive.

i've been seeing what i can edit on the animal crossing wikia while having barely any knowledge of the game beyond what's in smash and how far i've gotten in new horizons.

there's also fan wikias for ocs and i've just been making oc pages even though the wikias have been dead for years. i just can't stop myself.

i've had a wikia phase for bfdi, memes, and the robots. i did so well editing and keeping the meme wiki up i became a chat moderator, helped with small details, vandals, and probably also k/d counts on the bfdi wiki because special interest, and i hold the robots near and dear to my heart. first wiki i really got into editing actively, the game was where i first found my current gf, and the fanmade robots basically were a whole different meta because of how many, and a lot of AMAZING concepts there were. also somehow there ended up being power creep on the forums, like, some 2017-2018 concepts ended up with like 10000 hp?? there were like 3 typecharts, at least 30 types, and most importantly a dedicated community

You should edit Duusu’s wiki page. It logged the Kwami as a he, even though both voice actors in the French and English dub are female. I would edit it myself, but I don’t have time anymore.

Every time I catch a typo or misformat in a wiki I'm legally required to go in and edit it. Honestly it is really fun. Sometimes I'll add new content and it's cool watching people improve and add to your work.
Except it's not fun when I try to add new content and then I get into a mini editing war with a moderator who's never even played the game and apparently doesn't have basic grammar skills. I had to edit like 4 times just to get my grammar fixes to stick and I gave up on the additional content. Oh well.
