So many things got cancelled due to COVID, what got cancelled for you?
For me, I got a lot cancelled. I got a solo in band and I was so excited, that was going to be my first solo and I got picked over the entire band! Then I heard school was cancelled for another month, and the band directors sent out a thing telling us the concert was cancelled. Then they had to cancel the band banquet too....school ended unexpectedly and some of us didn't get to say goodbye to our friends and the seniors.
Recently my relationship got cancelled as did all of my summer camps...it's been rough recently so I was wondering how everyone else was doing. I know people have had their graduations screwed with which sounds like trash.

I was going to a musical theatre camp in the summer that was cancelled. I was really excited because I would’ve been away for my birthday for the first time and we were actually making our own musical! I was really bummed but there’s always next year, I guess...

GenCon. A convention I've gone to for 16 years now, every. single. year. and it got cancelled. ;-; This is the first year I won't have a badge for a convention I love...
Also Indy PopCon. Which I was going to sell at this year. I have a LOT of stuff made, and I need to get it sold, but now I have to wait a YEAR before I can. I can only hope I get in to other conventions closer than that. ._.

4 of july parades :( every year my schools marching band marches in three parades and being a color guard member i march with them. but all three are canceled. It sucks because Its a great way to see friends over the summer, plus its fun.

I miss the entire week of Brightshine to go to Teen Camp, and whoosh, Covid swept it away...
The Manchester MCM Comic-Con, pretty much the only event I actually look forward to every year and pretty much one of only two high-density social event I can stand - the other being the annual Christmas Markets (And they could be affected, too). Been going every year (Minus two) since it started and I was really looking forward to it.
Thing is, while I'm sad they cancelled it, I'm also not sad because the building that the con is housed in is being used as one of the Nightingale Hospitals, and I think that's a far better use of the time and space.
I don't know if the other event I was planning to go to is gonna be held either. That one isn't until November, but since we've no idea how long this will last....

This year I got accepted into my state's all-state band and my district's honor band. I was also going to attend a pit orchestra summer camp to get some experience under my belt but they all got cancelled ^^,
I'm still pretty upset but safety is more important

A big feild trip to muskoka for me... we were looking forward to it all year but it got cancelled and now we are going in september.
And we might not be able to go to our cottage this year

Band also got deleted for me. I am in university right now, but I'm not a music major. I was in the uni's symphonic band, which is for non-majors, which was fine, though not as good as last year. However I was ALSO in the band for music majors, which only had 4 clarinets including me, so that was SUPER cool! I asked the director if he wanted me to join, and he said yes so I was in it for the winter semester and I got to go to Penticton with them before all of this happened. I was also in a community band for people who were ages 18-30 and was being directed by my high school band teacher who is literally the coolest man alive.
So of course all of that got cancelled. 4 concerts and a lot of rehearsals were simply just yoinked out of existence. Luckily on my last rehearsal with the community band, I got to have a conversation with my director about how worried I was that everything would be cancelled. I remember when he told me that the city's biggest marching band would have their rehearsals cancelled for the season, which was not public knowledge. When he told me that I knew everything was over. The showband doesn't simply cancel their whole season for no reason. He did tell me "this too shall pass," which kept me holding on. I cried on my drive home. A lot. I don't cry.
Since then, the community band's section leader has been holding online game nights and he's been playing other games like Minecraft and Apex with me. I am very grateful for him, because without him I don't know what I'd do.
If this hadn't happen, I'm not sure if I would have become as close to him as I currently am. So it's hard to crave those concerts while also knowing that I may not have become such good friends with him.
As for other things... My city's annual fair which I was looking forwards to because of said showband being featured in it heavily was cancelled for the first time in its ~115 year history. So that sucks big time.
So yeah, it's hot garbage that all of this has happened, but trying to find little things that make you happy that wouldn't have happened without the lockdowns definitely helps ease the pain just a little bit.
