TOPIC | How do I meet new people online??
1 2
For communication with people I already know, I use Discord. I have tiktok and tumblr, but those are just for memes. I have no idea what social media to use to meet new people online or how to do it. Mainly, I really want to find some people to play DnD with.

tbh you can meet a lot of people on tumblr
ive met people from lots of different platforms

you can find them anywhere.

what you can do is join a thing or conversation that involves DnD, and talk to people until you can invite them to a DnD game or they invite you, yk?

If you're already comfy using Discord, it's a great place to branch out! The find-a-server features/sites are pretty decent, and since most servers have some degree of theming, you get to start out knowing about some shared ground with folks.

I've found a couple DnD groups through Discord servers where the mutual interest was art, not DnD. Have you tried looking on Disboard to see if there are any DnD servers?

If you're specifically looking for a D&D game, you could try Roll20. I've never used it to look for a game to join, but I think people do that.

I've met a lot of online people on reddit. I'm not into DnD personally, but I'm sure the DnD sub reddit is popping!
+a billion to this. Reddit is great for meeting people, don't let the stereotypes fool you, it's incredibly diverse. There's a reason it's one of the most used websites on the internet all over the world. For DnD specifically, check out this subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/lfg/ They have general looking-for threads, and a weekly one as well for offsite groups like Discord. (If the site design is unwieldy you can do https://old.reddit.com/r/lfg/ ) There's a couple of DnD communities on Pillowfort as well, I think?

I met most of my friends from playing games and finding out randomly that they lived nearby!

It's ''easy'' (so to say) to meet new people... the thing is then keeping contact because incredibly often even if you get along well and have similar/same interests and even end up having interesting discussions, nothing comes out of it and before you know it it's like you never met them because you end up ghosted.

Edit: a word.
