TOPIC | Dappervolk is the most boring game ever
So...dappervolk...joined, created avatar and went looking for exciting quests to do with lots of rewards to enjoy....new game stuff here I come, maybe a tutorial and then cool quests. Everyone is hyped up about the game. Can't wait.

Talked about turnips....talked about stealing turnips....got a turnip as a pet...and some potatoes....so very, very bored....looked at quests and each chat about turnips was 1/7 so dragged myself through two more almost identical turnip talks...getting on my last nerve...
final reward was to get to talk to another NPC all over again for who cares what?!

Left.

Someone had to do it...root veg just isn't interesting...I swear my brain just gave up and left at one point.

Just don't go there. Whatever you can get by cross selling vegetables isn't worth the sheer mind numbing horror of the gameplay...*shudders*

Quickly upon starting the game I realized it was more into the roleplay and dialogue exchange than I was. If you want to try to enjoy the game I suggest playing it on its own terms and shift your focus from finishing cool quests to engaging with cool characters. Talking to the NPCs through the Main Quest storyline seems (to me) like the core game, with everything else serving to help you progress this storyline. If you see the NPC talk as a hindrance to the quests, you're going to have a tough time on this game, it's story-driven, NPC-driven. This is how the game is, we should engage with it prioritizing the same things it does (bonds with NPCs). To be fair I haven't really done any side quests, I've been focusing on the main quest, I imagine they are rather tedious as you said.

Full respect though if you can't dig a game like this, I can see why you don't get the appeal.

@Underwater

Talking to the NPCs would be fine...but the side quests are all the same as the main one and you're looking at doing them 7 times each from a small box at the top of the screen...with the same three sentences popping up each time you do one.
Look down and you can see two houses and a townhouse in shades of brown with two flashing cursers. That's it.

I have a turnip girl as a pet.

If I could find any engagement with it I would, but there's nothing.

There's potato gacha from the side quest and turnip gacha on the main.

I didn't bother checking the mini games out because I'm frightened to look...I don't want to find carrot gacha.

Is Rootvegaphobia a thing?

I heard a lot of buzz about it, so I joined. It looked fantastic.

I did the quests up until I got the turnip pet. Now I'm just sitting here looking at it, not particularly motivated to meet the rest of the village. I went on the forums to research what I'm supposed to do with my pet, and it seems really tedious.

Probably not sticking around much longer. A shame.

The game is slowly growing on me, but the cluttered layout needs an update or overhaul. Manually adding items to my wardrobe is a chore and clicking "Quests > In-Progress > To Quest > To Dialogue Box" over and over, just to get to a single quest, makes the game less desirable to play.

Hi there! We have a main thread for Dappervolk discussion here. I should note that feedback about another game's gameplay you dislike should be submitted directly to their development team. Thank you!
