So I want to do commissions for real money so that I can buy a gift for my dad. But I have no idea how or where I can do that. I only have like 2 followers on DA.
I don't know what my art is worth other than in fake dragon currency. I don't really care how much I get for it, if I have to do 100 commissions to buy my dad a gift I will do 100 commissions.
im not going to use instagram
idk if this is the right forum to post fhdsdgfh

Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr are great places to post art if Deviantart isn’t working for you (I’ve had a similar hardship with DA, but Instagram has worked well for me). And as for pricing, it depends on how long it takes, along with the quality of it. 10-20 dollars is usually reasonable when it comes to pricing for full pieces, but idk what will work best for you.
Sorry if this isn’t much help

Get yourself over to Art Sales! First thing to do is make a forum post over there selling your art. 'ThanosBottomText's Art Shop'. Make sure to show some examples of your art. Starting prices are 5 USD, don't sell for anything lower. I see people start around 5 USD for lineart, and they increase their pricing depending on the complexity of the drawing, e.g 20 USD for a full colour, shaded dragon with background, etc. It's up to you though- selling cheaply is more likely to get you sales in time to get your dad's present. Tag me when you open up your commissions and I might be able to help you out if I can afford it. Best of luck!
PS how much is the gift for you dad and what is it? out of curiosity

Facebook groups with mixed demographics can be good. You're more likely to meet people who value your time and labour. I've had good experiences with D&D players, and other artists I know who can draw creatures swear up and down that furries are the best commissioners in terms of having respect for your time investment.
But I'd also recommend checking local part-time listings for after school work, too, and then check if stocking a shelf for an hour or two after school might not make you more money. Even at my age I'd rather pick up trash by the side of the road for recycling than get paid the $1/hr some people 'generously' offer in fandom.

It's between 39 and 60 euros I think, it's a game for the ps4. He told me he wanted a new game for the ps4 that he could play together with me since he wanted to spend more time with me, he didn't tell me what game tho so I'm looking for one that he would like :)
He's been really sad lately because my mom got really sick and probably won't be around for more than a week, I'm not sure how long but it looks really bad. So I got the idea of buying a gift for him to cheer him up. He doesn't know that I'm going to buy one for him so I hope that it makes him happy.
I also already have a thread with my art shop
