So I'm always on the lookout for little Fandoms and lesser known stories so I figured, why not ask for some recommendations while sharing a few of my favorites?

My recommendations:

YouTube:

Daisy Brown: a weird little YouTube channel that presents itself as the vlog of a girl living with and taking care of a monster. Its weird, dark, unsettling and weirdly nostril in a way I can't quite put my finger on. It's one of the most unique things I've ever watched. Make sure to watch the videos in order, with subtitles turned on.

The Autodale series by Dead Sound : a series of 3D animated shorts about a dystopia town where everyone is 'perfect'. I'm always amazed by the amount of effort and time some youtube animators put into their work and this channel is one of my favorites. I mention the autodale series as ita their largest, but all of their animated shorts are worth watching honestly and my favorite is probably 'Scary and Strange

Podcasts:

So I'm not going to go into my favorite podcasts because most of them are fairly well known and I want to focus on stuff people may not have heard of but some of my favorites are, The Adventure Zone, The Magnus Archives, The Penumbra Podcast and Wolf 359, these are the podcasts I recommend most but I feel most people who like narrative podcasts have heard of at least most of these.

Anyways, on to other recommendations

Janus Descending: another podcast about why capitalism socks, in space. This isn't one of my favorites but, it has one of the most unique ways I've seen a podcast present its story. The story is told from two perspectives, one telling the story from beginning to end, the other telling it from end to beginning. Episodes switch off from one to the other until the mystery of what really happened to the two protagonists is finally revealed. Its a bit hard to follow at first, but the ending is worth it.

The Drabblecast: an audio fiction anthology focusing on wrird stories. Quality varies and you may have to search around a bit to find something you like, but there's some really unique stuff on there.

Unwell: a Midwest Gothic podcast about a women who goes to stay with her aging mother at the historical hotel she owns. Weird stuff happens, there's ghosts, cults and just a general uneasiness about the town. The first season has some great atmosphere.

I'll add to this as I remember more stuff but if anyone has any recommendations of stuff they think is underrated, feel free to leave recommendations, I'm always looking for new stuff to listen to/ read/ watch

I'll post some YouTubers cause why not?

Atomic Shrimp: This YouTuber does about anything from food reviews to email scambaiting. I watch him for the email scambaits because he can manage to make even the most dull copy-pasted emails seem interesting and always has tricks up his sleeve to keep the scammers hooked. In one more recent video, he got another YouTuber musician to SING A SONG from one of the responses he got. Regardless, this guy's really interesting and I love his content.

Defunctland: Defunct theme park and TV show history. A LOT of Disney related things. These videos are addictive.

Yesterworld Entertainment: Similar to Defunctland, they've even done some crossovers! He focuses more on the Disney side of things, talking about their trashed movie plans, theme park rides, and more!

whoisthisgit: An assorted gaming YouTube talking about all kinds of things, such as strange video game endings; good and bad level, visual, and sound design; and various other topics such as his own dreams pertaining to video games.

But I think they deserve more? Hmmmm. I'll think on it. Edit: turns out doubleyou-tee-eff gets censored. Huh.

I'm not great at figuring out what's popular or not but here's some from Youtube!

Chase Crossing: He posts the best animal crossing tours I've ever seen! His voice is super chill and he's very soft, I usually watch his videos at night because they're very relaxing. His commentary is cute and he's very nice :) 10/10

RyanFTW: Another chill animal crossing channel. His videos are very laid back, and a ton are very informative! His animal crossing and chill series is a good one to binge watch while grinding in the coli, if you like that type of stuff!

Umami: Umami is the creator of an amazing series called Interface. Interface is probably one of my favourite web series because of it's unique style and delivery, I definitely would recommend watching it if you have the time! Mischief is one of the most unique characters I've ever seen, his design is just *mwah* chef's kiss

Local 58: I'm pretty sure Local 58 is popular but I'm going to share it anyways. This is another favourite web series of mine, I especially like the "Show for Children". I'm terrified of static so this channel always scares me, but the mystery really draws me in. I would also recommend watching this series through if you have the time!

Robert Helpmann: To be completely honest I hate this channel as much as I love it. I seriously cannot watch these videos unless it's day time and I have someone else around. If you're not a fan of horror (not the jumpscare kind, but environmental) then definitely do not click on this link! This series is about a dead body named Daisy in a bag. Enough said

KrainaGrzybowTV: This channel is not in English, but it is a horror/abstract web series. I believe it's mushroom land or something similar in english? It's been a long time since I've watched these videos/theories about them so I'm not sure anymore. It really stands out to me because of the imagery, it has some really cool vibes that I can't really describe. Something that sticks out to me from this series is the word "papiero", I swear I have never been so scared of a word lmao

POSTcontent: Another web series, what a surprise. I'm actually really shocked that this series doesn't get more attention, it has a really interesting storyline. I won't spoil anything, but it does include more bodies in bags (that may or may not be dead....). The tutorial videos on the channel are pretty creepy, especially the "constraint tutorial". I do not like that white mask baby thing,,, it kinda reminds me of satan from the adventures of mark twain (the claymation movie)

As I'm finishing this list I'm realizing that I like a ton of cryptic web series lmao, if you want some more recommendations about spooky stuff pm me. The channels I watch that have theories about all of these web series are pretty popular (Nexpo, Night Mind, LEMMiNO, etc.) so I figured I wouldn't write a paragraph about them here^^

Moth Keeper's Lantern xx - azra.
- she/her.
- aavikko => dyhayc.
- skin & accent shop (semi-hiatus).
Thought I’d add some great channels I’ve found:

Buttered Side Down:
A dude with amazing video editing skills who makes comedic skits that devolve into wacky situations. Like, planting flowers leads to him hunting a flower monster in his house in a horror like fashion, or staying in the bathroom too long causes him to mess with the flow of the universe. He doesn’t say anything the entire time other than grunts and other noises. He’s really endearing and entertaining to watch, and is super creative. He has a lot of subscribers but I hardly see anyone talking about him.

Clemps:
A guy who is very passionate about jrpgs and likes to make analysis videos on them. I’ve only had experience with a few of the titles he covers, but is sense of humor is so great that I can randomly pick any video and get at least a few laughs out of it even if I’ve seen it five times already. His love for the genre is easy to see, which is awesome. He mainly covers Nier, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts, but there’s a few others thrown in there.

Surreal Entertainment:
As the name might suggest, this creator makes surreal but entertaining videos, that often border on being disturbing. The videos are made in some 3D program with basic models of characters acting out things. He satirizes movies in this manner as well. If you know who Pamtri is, you might have heard of this guy.

Sam O Nella Academy:
Like the coolest history teacher you never had. Tells stories about wacky things that have happened in history as well as things like folklore with plenty of comedy sprinkled in.

Nakey Jakey:
A guy who sits on an excersise ball in front of a greenscreen and talks about things from videogames to online dating, to Disney channel original movies. He has a great editing skills and great humor.

Narmak:
Uses his amazing animating skills to produce short anime-esque animations usually involving memes. He is famous for his multiple Spongebob anime openings, and is currently working on a full anime episode to go with them.

Hm, not sure if this is really underrated, but, She-Ra is an amazing TV show with one of the best LGBTQ+ rep of any I've seen. For Youtubers, I don't really know if they're underrated a lot, but here are some good ones: PM Seymour, hilarious Tumblr post reading things, as well as Moonkitti, who does warrior cat videos, and Ice Cream Sandwich, a very funny guy. uhhhh watch she-ra it's like the best show ever--

Me coming here to recommend the adventure zone and the magnus archives only to see that you've already listened ... I know they're more popular podcasts but I couldn't help myself. Thanks for the other podcast recs though I can never have too many on my list!

And while I can't vouch for them myself, I've been wandering around in podcast land for a while now and I've heard people talking about Archive 81 and Greater Boston. Like I said I can't really speak for them, but I've only heard good things! They're on my list, but I just caught up with TMA and I just started TAZ: Amnesty as a result.

Anyways, game recs: Oneshot on steam! It's very short but very very good and captivating, I remember crying. Same with To the Moon and it's sequel, Finding Paradise (there will be a third game called Imposter Factory coming out soon-ish as well, which is exciting)! They all have beautiful narratives and are very touching. It saddens me to see how they're not super big but that does make finding fanart and other fans pretty neat
