Title! What's everyone's favorite instrument?

I gotta choose the one I play, the saxophone, of course. It's versatile, expressive, and the epitome of cool. In my opinion, most things are better when a saxophone is involved.

Close runner up is the cello, it has such a beautiful sound and I love hearing it both in an orchestra and solo.

What about you guys?

Flute or violin.

I play the flute myself, but I've always admired the violin. One day I wanna learn to play a song or two on one, but right now I'm happy with the flute, because it gets really good roles in video game music. XD

Totally not biased whatsoever, but trumpet!

I played it for about.. four? years before I dropped band my sophomore year of highschool. It can mesh pretty well with almost any song, fast paced or not, and was really fun to play! Especially when it came to marching band lol.

I am 100% biased, but the clarinet! I've been playing the clarinet for 10 years now. That's a long time oh my god. Wooooh o-o

The Eb clarinet is especially amazing and needs more attention (though... not too much. I kinda like keeping it my little (hehe) secret!)

I also play the alto sax though so I've always got good things to say about it :D

(Taking my instrument out of the equation since that's bias.)

I really like listening to the harp and bass clarinet! Their voices are deep and mellow, which is something I enjoy. Piano and oboe are cool too, but not as much as the other two.

My opinion of Orchestra(not including band):
You need the bass, admire the cello, love the viola, want to be second violin, but play first violin.

But I don't have a favorite because there is too much. Every instrument is amazing in it's own way!

extreme bias, but piano and cello! i love the sound of both (and the differing tones depending on the instrument) and piano especially has a lot of potential. they're both very versatile in sound wish they were in transport too and can tie together an ensemble.
i was surprised at just how high a cello can go and still sound good if played right. i probably never would've if i didn't start taking private lessons, and it's also introduced me to a bunch of interesting solos.

Hmm tough question but probably the Hurdy-Gurdy partially because I like the sound it makes, partially because of its silly name.

I do have a weakness for most string instruments tho

The electric bass! Is any song really complete without a slappin' baseline? Heck, half the reason I like certain songs is for the bass alone. (Too Shy by Kajagoogoo immediately comes to mind, as does Need You Tonight by INXS.)

I'd love to learn how to play it myself someday, though that's probably not in the cards for a while given the state of things. At least I can still enjoy listening to music in the car with the bass up so high that it rattles the dashboard, haha.
