Whenever I tell people I have a pet snake, the response I usually get is " ew, gross!" [emoji=coatl sad size=1] So I wanted to make a snake positive thread. I am sorry your mom won't let you have a snake. D: I had to wait a while to get one because my parents didn't like them either, and then my last roommate was the same way...
But hopefully you can get one when you get your own place! And yes, BELs are very pretty.

your snake is so cute!! i love snakes, i want to get one sometime but i have 6 pets in my house at the moment so not anytime soon lol

I don't own any snakes, but I like them. Want to see some more in the wild. I've once, long ago, seen a grass snake. Other than that, my experience with wild legless reptiles have been mostly slowworms, which are very cute, but not snakes. But I'd still like to see more of those, too.
Wish me luck that I come across some eventually, and get a picture of them.

@Xionahri - Good luck! I've seen lots of garters around where I live. The place I work at is also next to a wetlands area and sometimes I come across these big, fat rat snakes that can get up 6 six feet. Completely harmless though.

@Kodama - What a handsome boy! I really like that warm, chocolatey color that a lot of morphs have. What other kind of snake are you looking to get?
I'm also going to an expo in a few weeks. Mostly just to look around and maybe pick up some more viv wood for some projects and maybe isos. I'm not looking to get another snake...no siree, I am NOT getting another snake....

His colors are so nice! Every time I look at him I'm amazed by how pretty he is. Chocolatey is a good way to describe it lol

A blood python (or perhaps a Borneo Short Tail) would be top of my list, but there usually aren't many (or any at all) at the expos here, and sometimes the vendors that sell them are a bit iffy so that would be lucky. There are a few other species I would love, but it's going to be down to finding the right snake there, if that makes sense.

That's what they all say...lol Isopods are pretty nice too, though. If you were to look for another snake (though you're not, of course) what would you be looking for? :o

@Reltseo The first three times I saw a snake I thought they were neat and actually adorable! I just think they have cute little faces! I actually have 2 snakes, 6 chickens, 4 dogs, and I used to have 2 sugar gliders. This is my friendly, curious noodle, unfortunately the other one likes to hide all the time so getting pictures isn't always easy. But this one is so sweet! I didn't even know snakes could be friendly until this one!
