Nevada, for like the first time ever, is in the news!
But the real question is how is it pronounced?
Nev-awww-da or Nev-ehhh-da
like is one bougie and one is just there ???

I've always said Nev-ehhh-da, as have people I've known/been around
edit: to clarify I meant like neh-vad-ahh but I was choosing one of the two choices mentioned that matched what I meant closely

As a native Nevadan, we pronounce it "Nev-AH (short a?)-duh"
I suck at doing these things so here's a blurb when I looked it up >>
Visiting Nevada? Don't call it “Nev-AH-da,” or you'll be in trouble. Unless one legislator has his way. Apparently, the only acceptable pronunciation of the state is “Nev-AD-a,” not “Nev-AH-da.”
I've noticed the only people who say "Nev-AWW-da" are from central/eastern USA, and then non-native English speakers.
However, I believe the true way to say it in Spanish is "Nev-AWW (AHH, which ever)-da"
EDIT:
Another good one is "Ne-VAH-da(duh)" or "Ne-VAD-a(uh)"
As I said above, Nevadan's call it "Ne-VAD-a(uh)" and I believe most of the Western US. (Haven't met many people from the north, so idk how they pronounce it >>)

...I never really considered that people wouldn't just say Neh-VAD-a. Don't worry, over here in Colorado we have similar vowel pronunciation opinions.
