TOPIC | Creepy things from non-horror games

Picture this: You're playing a video game, just kinda escaping from your struggles in the real world for a bit, but then, whether or not you expected it, you see something in that game that just makes you feel really uncomfy, that just sends chills up your spine. So... Just share anything you just find creepy that came from a video game that is not a horror game (since jumpscares, creepy character designs, and the like are to be expected in horror games, I'm excluding them, just to make this more fun and to make the scares a bit more unexpected).

And no, creepypastas about non-horror games don't count, and neither do glitches. I'm looking for spooks that are in the actual games, and that the developers have intentionally added.

Now then, let the spooks begin:

- To start, I raise you the Calcabrina battle in Final Fantasy XIV. I first did this fight rather recently when I was trying to rush through the main story to get from Heavensward to Stormblood, and as someone who's already freaked out by those old fashioned dolls (I don't even watch horror movies, those things just give me the creeps), this entire fight was pretty unsettling, and the music at the beginning plus the laughter in that opening cutscene just added to the creepiness factor of the battle. At least it gets a few extra points for being one of the only video game bosses that I'd want to bash 25 times in the head with a baseball bat (or a large rock) then set fire to and throw in the dumpster if I ever saw it in real life.

Oh man... just look up Kirby lore and that stuff is absolutely the poster child for creepy things in non-horror games, ESPECIALLY the final bosses. One of the worst offenders is Zero, just look it up if you don’t know...

Some really eerie sounds play if you stay too long in one of the boss stages in Splatoon 1 & 2
In a game that's super colorful and bright and kid-friendly, it's just reaallly unsettling to hear,, I'll try to add a link later if I can remember-
EDIT: Here's a video showcasing the spooky sounds! It has some spoilers for the first splatoon though

....does Library of Ruina count as a non-horror game because legitimately OH MY GOD LOVE TOWN (warning for body horror, there is a very good reason why people say "we don't talk about Love Town")

Library of Ruina (and its predecessor Lobotomy Corporation) is just...chock-full of creepy stuff, actually. honorable mention to the Carnival for being so very much a thing

The Sonic CD boss theme (USA version) is really creepy, especially compared to the Japanese version. Almost forgot to add this! Ascending Thorny Towers in Psychonauts. no music, only enemies are exploding rats, you're all alone on that climb, and the higher you get, the more twisted the architecture inexplicably gets, until you're walking on what used to be the ceiling, with the floor now above you. the game never explains how the building got that impossibly warped.

the entirety of the Silent Woods from Will of the Wisps is very unsettling, and let's not forget Deepnest in Hollow Knight. arachnaphobes beware.
