Hm not sure if this'll suit you but one of my first anime when I was starting was Natsume Yuujinchou.

(it's very sweet and calm but have action in it too)

@OscarRocks are you interested in shows that are sort of anime-adjacent but not ACTUALLY in the genre? i think you'll like the she-ra reboot if you like ATLA

Like, what variety of child-friendly? Low/no violence? Just happy-feel-good? No swearing? All the above?

If you can find them, Chi's Sweet Home, My Neighbor Seki, and Uchitama?! Have You Seen My Tama?, are pretty kid-friendly.

Chi's Sweet Home is about the adventures of a little kitten that gets adopted by a family after getting separated from her mother. Cute, exaggerated kitty expressions. There's also a 3D one, so might take some digging to actually find.

My Neighbor Seki (<- actually the name of the manga, but it should work) A story about a student trying to pay attention in school, but who gets distracted every day by watching the wild and ridiculous activities of the boy next to her. From playing chess with himself to card towers....
I only read the manga, not the anime, but it was pretty innocent from what I remember, with the exception of one other classmate who thought the main two were lovers and had her own daydreams about that. Still, nothing really bad.

Uchitama?! Have You Seen My Tama? I've only seen one episode so far, but it seems really light-hearted. Basically adorable, humanized versions of puppies and kitties having little adventures in their town. The one of this list actually on Funimation, so I can actually give a legitimate source.

Of course, anyone and everyone in the anime community would recommend Pokémon and Digimon. The former was a favorite of mine when I was a wee babbi Masque.

Also, not technically an anime, but Wakfu. It's your typical shonen story: boy with special powers goes on a quest to save the world from the big bad evil guy. But the animation is pure unfiltered eye candy, and the protagonist, Yugo, is a good and precious bean who I would die for. Also we need more people in the Wakfu fandom.

Digimon Tamers. Damn, that one was pretty amazing. I rewatched it a few years back, as an adult, and I must say it still held up pretty well.

Going to have to recommend Digimon, as well. Although I had a pretty big Pokemon phase when I was a kid, I always thought the Digimon anime was way cooler. I still enjoy the show to this day!

You probably have heard of them, but Studio Ghibli has some good movies! Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and The Cat Returns are just a few of the many amazing movies they have made! The films I listed are the ones I liked the most as a kid, and are all pretty family friendly. However, not all of the movies that Studio Ghibli makes are aimed at younger folks.

Depending on access.
Most of these are on crunchyroll.

1. Keep Your Hands off Eizoken! It's about a group of high school girls who decide to create an anime and start an animation club at their high school.

2. How to Keep a Mummy.
Kashiwagi Sora is a high school student whose father is an adventurer and often sends him weird things. One day, his father sends him a huge coffin from his travels in Egypt and a mummy emerges that's only 12 cm tall. Sora decides to keep the mummy, pretty much as a pet and the entire anime is him trying to keep the mummy out of trouble and keep it safe. It's an adorable anime. No violence or anything, just cuteness.

There's also stuff like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura which is what I used to watch when I was a kid around that age, but there's nudity( henshin scenes since they are nude in those). Also some violence from fighting monsters, but gore wise it's pretty low, no massive blood or anything.

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.- Le petit prince.
Ore Monogatari is a sweet love story between a big tough guy and his baker girlfriend. Their dynamic is cute just because of how much it is out there with their differences (with Takeo being very strong with his looks that freaks people out, and Yamato being small and cheerful). Recommended if you love romcoms, because that anime I would definitely recommend. I would say it is child friendly imo, there's some scenes that would question you but it's all light hearted (I don't mean innuendos when I say questioning scenes. When you get to the plastic wrap scene, you'll get what I mean pfft) Just to recap: Ore Monogatari is a lighthearted romcom and slice of life that is age appropriate (13+) for those who wants to see an opposite attract relationship in anime form (NOTE! It's been a long while since I've seen it, may or may not have swearing but hopefully there aren't as I really do recommend you to watch it)

oh hey i feel you! i always watch anime with my family, and my sister used to be super sensitive to certain stuff so we always try to keep our watching pretty clean and not scary.

atla and lok technically aren't anime, they're american made, so this might be a little bit of a jump for you but it's awesome that you're getting more into anime!

if you're into anime movies, i highly recommend a whisker away! it's about this girl in middle school who has a huge crush on this boy who wants absolutely nothing to do with her, but when she puts on a mask and turns into a little kitten, she can be his friend. it's adorable and surprisingly extremely relatable, at least for me.

love live! school idol project is a really sweet anime, it's about a bunch of girls who form a school idol club (think, like, pop stars but they're high schoolers living in japan) to keep their school from closing. it's a really good friendship story and i still have a lot of fond memories about it. plus there's music! and dance numbers! it's so fun! also, if you've heard of the nico nico nii meme, it's from that show :)

i'm not sure if you're looking for stuff that's for your age range or for kids in general, because there are a lot of shows that i would definitely recommend for 13 year olds like you, but not, like, a six year old. these two shows i'm gonna recommend are a little on the older side but it's nothing super serious:

himouto! umaru chan was my first anime ever, it's about a girl in highschool who is extremely charismatic and popular and looks like the perfect girl at a glance, but when she goes home she turns into this crazed toddler who only wants to laze around and eat and play videogames all day. she's kind of horrible to her brother, who pretty much takes care of her. it's hilarious but i don't recommend it if you're very sensitive to mild fanservice.

the disastrous life of saiki k is my favorite anime of all time and i recommend it to everyone - it's about a highschool kid who's a psychic and is practically all-powerful, except all he really wants to do is blend in with the crowd and eat sweets. it's one of the funniest things i've ever watched, it's super self aware and breaks the fourth wall all the time. rarely there is a little bit of swearing, but not much. there is also one character that's gross around girls but it's condemned, though i'd understand if you'd be uncomfortable watching something like that.
