I'm officially cursed in Minecraft. Every time I try to play in my friends' server, I die and lose all my stuff in comedically unfortunate ways. Then I go mining to get more stuff, and lose it again. I've lost at least five sets of full iron armor at this point, plus iron tools. Everyone else on the server has full enchanted diamond everything, or better. XD

Also, my iron golem died today (again) while I was out mining.

I will now proceed to run armorless into the nether with a bunch of beds. I'll bring nothing else of value in the foolish hopes of encountering ancient debris, which I could probably, theoretically trade other users for diamond armor. In the fleeting hope of playing without dying.

You may now laugh at me for being terrible at this game. XD

This reminds me of my time playing modded minecraft.


Almost every single time I started on a modpack, I wound up with some permanent or pseudo-permanent ailment. The most common of which was Thaumcraft's warp. The other one was a vampire-based modpack I played with a friend and, in becoming a vampire, got all of these buffs but couldn't chill in the sunlight lest I basically instantly die. Had to have a base with a roof made of leaves so I could stay in the shade.

@Niceless Omg, that's tragic. X'D I've never played modded minecraft, since I die so often in vanilla.

So as soon as I stepped into the nether, the game lagged, and I was shot by an unforeseen ghast, which destroyed the portal, instantly leaving me trapped. XD

I mined down anyway, right next to a bastien, and was killed by an angry piglin hiding around the corner.

Not how I expected to go, but I lasted about two minutes, which was... longer than I expected. XD

I literally cannot stand the nether. ESPECIALLY in modded Minecraft. THANKFULLY most if not all of the modpacks I play in have a mechanic where mobs don't spawn/don't notice you until you move for the first time when entering a dimension which helps with the inevitable lag of a new, highly diverse and highly game-breaking dimension.

Also, can't stand bastions. I never go into them because I know the piglins will destroy me. I tried that one time in a vanilla game and died three times, wound up having to abandon most of my stuff (a lot of which fell in lava).

Oh, don't trade them the Ancient Debris! Save it, you can turn it into a full set of Netherite armor, get it enchanted, and KILL THEM ALL

Fortunately in the server I play, there are only a few players, and we work as a team.
I feel like monsters spawn waaay more often than when not playing on a server...even for normal mode. Unless it's been so long since I last played that they've updated the game's survival mode to be harder overall.

But I digress. We were all dying a lot due to a poop-ton of mobs. Creepers everywhere. So we built out tons of torches to get less spawns in our home base area over all @ u@

@Niceless oh my gosh, yeah. My portal spawns into a soul sand valley, and I swear ghasts must have an increased spawn rate there, because there's some there [i]every time.[/i] The nether is brutal. Yeah, I didn't even really go [i]inside[/i] the bastion. There was just a piglin chilling around a corner, and they attack you if they see you mining gold. They also attack you on sight if you aren't wearing gold armor. I swore he wouldn't see me, but I was wrong. XD I should've blocked off that area just to be sure. @LilacShock Haha, it's true! It's just that I thought you can only make netherite if you already have diamond. Which I'm having a really hard time getting, because I can't even keep a full set of iron. XD *cries* @Fianna It sounds like a really nice system you guys have! I think some of the players in ours work together, and we're pretty much all friendly with each other as well, but I fend for myself and try not to use anything the other players have built. I could probably [i]ask[/i] for resources, but I just... really don't want to, it feels too awkward for me unless I have something valuable to offer in return. XD Gosh, I know what you mean. I think they did up the mob spawn rate at some point, because it's just crazy now. Like, I thought witches were supposed to be rare spawns, but I've already seen several of them, even some spawning right in the middle of a desert. But I've seen none in the swamp, where they're [i]supposed[/i] to be. XD I wish I could just like, find one cave with a nice patch of iron and no creepers. But so far every cave I've found is either full of deadly mobs, or it leads into a really dangerous lava ravine or a mineshaft. I kid you not, there's so many of them. Please, game, I'm begging you, give me a normal cave until I have OP stuff and won't die to these OP caves [emoji=coatl tongue size=1]

@Deathstalker Actually in the main modpack I play in, there's a strange mechanic that lowers the spawn rates a looooot, to the point of which not having a bed in early game doesn't matter that much so long as you don't go seeking the mobs. I can tell because there's a minimap that shows hostile (and neutral if you turn that option on) mobs, and they're noticeably infrequent. This does make grinding for things like enderpearls and bones challenging but otherwise means sleeping is less vital. It's quite convenient.


In case you're wondering, the modpack is literally called "The 1.12.2 Pack" and is set in, well, 1.12.2. I highly recommend if you ever start playing modded; it's the main one I play. It's got a collection of the more well-known mods like Thaumcraft and TC.

Just Netherite scraps and gold ingots, unless you WANT to upgrade your diamond armor, which is kinda pointless.

Every time I log into my friend’s survival server, I would lose all my inventory by falling in lava.

We’re down to our last diamond.
