Mindfulness meditation can help, and intense exercise.
Hope you feel better soon, here's a gif makes me laugh

Catharsis is what helps me the most. Nothing else seems to help. Trying out calming things leaves me even more frustrated. Same goes for funny stuff, or things supposed to make me think about something else.

ive no idea what catharsis is or how to pronounce it but all of that i agree with
but when im upset or angry, the ONLY thing that helps is listening to angry music, writing angry notes, and being alone. if anyone talks to me or is around me the anger will leak out and ill lash out.
i kinda like to think more of embracing my emotions. i need to pinpoint and figure out why im so mad, then figure out ways to make it better in the long run. the last thing i want when mad is to lash out, so how can i not only help myself, but others too?

Go out into the woods and SCREAM
let your anger out on the trees.

It's hard to suggest tips without knowing context. But, I find distraction works best for me. I tend to use really difficult single player games when I'm upset or stressed. Easier games make it so I can think (which isn't helpful in the middle of intense emotions, at least for me), while harder games make it so I have to give all my attention to that instead. Single player for obvious reasons.
I also use other activities, like difficult crochet patterns and whatnot. Anything that requires undivided attention that interests me works, basically. I find being with my pets helps, too. Just don't go too far with the distraction method; that can be detrimental.
But, at the end of the day, it's mainly just trial and error to find what works for you. I know my own methods are not for everyone. I know most people recommend meditation or calmer methods, but those never work for me. I just end up thinking about what upset me, which isn't helpful in intense moments.

I'm this way too, @

That's what catharsis is. You get rid of emotions, feelings and wills that can be destructive or at least negative by putting them into something else. Literature, music, movies... Well, in my case, I don't necessarily get rid of such emotions, but it still helps a lot to control them.
Music is very cathartic to me. Especially the genres I listen to. I listen to guys yelling and crying out all their suffering and hatred so I don't have to do it myself. (I would do it myself if I had what it takes to make music, though.)
Embracing your emotions is a great way to describe it. I need to be true to my emotions and face them, in order to better control them. If I try to ignore them or to drown them with something else, it'll not work, it'll only make it worse.
