Hello! =D Amphibia and TOH are 2 of my top favorite shows right now! Who are your favorite characters from each, if you can decide? Mine are probably Eda and Grime.

Finally caught up on Amphibia and I am happy they gave us an eldritch dragon god (in cockatrice/basilisk-style). Overall this show has top-tier character and creature designs. However, something incredibly minor has been driving me crazy- The Toad Lords were a pretty cool look at the feudalism-based culture Amphibiaa resides in. All three are pretty neat. Something, though, caught me. Captain Bufo (type of toad genus fun fact) has hair. Bufo has hair. Apart from some backup toads with mohawks, I don't think I've seen masculine-presenting toads with hair before. Looking at clips, too, I can see Aldo has hair, too! Why is that? I guess from a Doylist perspective, it's because the Toad Lords needed distinct designs. But, for fun, here's some Watsonian theories too. -Is hairlessness in masculine toads a cultural thing? Do the toads of East Tower differ from South Tower toads by hair being common overall. Same with the North Tower's toads? -The toads, as a Xenofictional society do not have the same concept of gender as humans and as such the pressures of gender roles we have do not appear with the toads (or other Amphibians), allowing toads to be and present however they please? -Different toad species means different hair growth, with South Tower's toads typically having less hair growth? But yea. I am not a normal person and instead I am asking myself why a toad has hair.
