I'll go first:

"is it a reverse curse?"
- I meant blessing

"the- um- tiny cat"
- I forgot the English word for "kitten", which is embarrassing because my native language (Dutch) also uses the word "kitten"

"yeah I had to get a röntgen picture done" "a what" "I forget what it's called, you take a picture and you see bones"
- double whammy on this one. I forgot "X-ray" and first substituted a literal translation of the Dutch word (röntgenfoto, named after the inventor), then tried to explain what I meant in the most ridiculous way possible

Do you ever just forget a word in your native language, but remember it in a different one? Happens more often than I'd like admit.

I can't think of any funny word subsitutes right now, but in theory I have plenty of those too.

@LouckyKoneko

Oh hey, neighbor! German here, fluent in English and actually currently learning Dutch. *waves*

@xionahri hi neighbor! I used to be semifluent in German but now I'm just at a basic conversation level because I don't practice enough
I was on vacation in Germany recently and full on forgot how to speak German one day even though I'm at a basic conversation level, so... ye. sometimes my languages just go bye
that particular moment led to a "mom what is the german word for cheese", which I had literally known a second before (I forgot the language mid-conversation while trying to order lunch)... it was weird. really funny in hindsight though xD

I forgot the word for "oven mitt" once and called it a "Heat-preventing hand mitten" instead.

another one from me:

"can you hand me the thingie" - I often forget the names for things, so this is a very common occurrence.

i do the "thingy" thing a lot
i also forget people's names right in front of them occasionally so instead of their name i just stammer myself half to death until i remember

also, i didn't do this but someone forgot the word for 'tea' so they said 'england water' instead

Hey, friendly reminder to drink water, stretch, and take a short break if you can. Stay healthy! Also, don't forget about any chores or tasks you might be putting off.
