we've got our three mobs for the next minecraft vote!
The glare, which floats around looking ugly until it tells you if someplace is dark enough for mobs to spawn (basically a living f3)
The allay, which looks like a mini vex without a sword, collects items given to it and acts as a multiplier of sorts then drops the items at the nearest note block (where it will likely promptly despawn like most other dropped items)
And the copper golem, which runs around pushing one specific type of button, the copper button, until it gets too old and stops moving, turning into an oxidized copper statue (which can be replicated with redstone without the whole stopping after a few days thing)
so basically they're all kind of not great this year, oops. personally i'm going with the allay since it's not unpleasant to look at like the glare and copper golem, but how about you guys? whats your thoughts and opinions about this years voting mobs? are you ready for the green man to rig the vote again?

i think all three are pretty cute, personally! i'm torn between voting for the glare and the allay, but since i mostly play on peaceful i'd probably get the most use from the allay :3

they’re all very cute but I feel like the copper golem is thematically fitting (considering it’s the second part of the update that previously added copper!) im really torn, especially considering how adorable the allay is, but at the moment im leaning golem

I like the Allay! Could be useful, and it kind of reminds me of casper the friendly ghost [emoji=banescale tongue size=1]
(maybe if some sort of hopper system were in place, as well as a few nametags, nothing would despawn,,,)

Maybe the Allay! The Glare does have potential, though! I can def see me using the Glare myself occasionally. The Copper Golem seems to be more potential for those that use redstone, something I personally do not do! So, hey, it doesn't matter to me which one wins :]

Just to be clear, the Allay doesn’t multiply items; it can only collect Dropped Item entities that already exist in the general area around it and move them either to you or to a Note Block. So, it won’t make materials on its own, but it can gather things like mob drops, saplings dropped from trees that you’ve cut down, ect. without needing to make complicated machines to collect them.
I wonder if the Glare’s light detection ability works in direct sunlight/moonlight. In the upcoming update, there’s a difference between moonlight and torch/ect. light when it comes to mob spawning that isn’t as easily discerned manually, so it could theoretically be useful there.
I’m not entirely sure what the practical purpose of the Copper Golem is (beyond making it easier to make a randomizer circuit for players who aren’t good at redstone, such as myself) but the idea of having a crazy little robot running around your base activating machinery is adorable.
Overall, I like the Allay and Copper Golem most, but the Glare is cute too.
