Have you seen the Nintendo direct yesterday? I'm honestly surprised they put so much stuff, I didn't play the game for at least a couple months and now I can't wait for the 5th!
What's your favorite new feature? Mine is probably the new ladders, they're an absolute game changer for my island layout, I was struggling to make everything fit. Also the fact that they added more stairs in general.
Are you going to buy the DLC and will you continue with your old island or restart it? I'm not going to restart and idk about the DLC, it looks very cool from the trailer but I have to think about it.

It's a step in the right direction but I'm not convinced it will save the game, the problems with it are too baked into it's core for them to be fixed with standard content patches. The addition of paid DLC is worrying.

I was not expecting all of that stuff! Gyroids, cooking, and more furniture are what I’m most excited for, although to be fair, I’m pretty much excited for everything else as well!
I am 100% getting the DLC!!! I played Happy Home Designer on the 3DS and I enjoyed it, so seeing that game getting a sequel WITHIN New Horizons is a big yes from me.
Also, I am in love with Shino and would commit crimes for Wardell.

I would've liked to of seen an expansion on the player house rooms, or a gradual expansion of Nook's Cranny, but besides those big ones not being addressed, I'm pretty happy with the update. Lots of QoL stuff. I'm a bit bummed the DLC is so expensive, but I KNOW I'm gonna buy it anyway, hahaha.

I actually missed the nintendo direct, and haven't had the chance to watch it yet, so all I got was a brief summary from a friend. But I like what I've heard so far. Though, I'm not happy about the dlc costing money (even though I'll probably end up buying it...). How much will the dlc be?

i am so excited for gyroids and the new villagers!!
but tbh some of the things that are being added should have been base-game things (like things that should have been there at launch if that makes sense?? like being able to place down ladders or villagers coming over to your house for example maybe)
but other than that it's good stuff so I'm looking forwards to it!

The update looks so good?? It's the 2.0 update so it SHOULD be a big one, but I guess I wasn't really expecting a lot. I don't know if I have a favorite feature because there's just so much, I'm bound to forget stuff, haha. But I think cooking sounds fun! It'll be nice to set out some new foods.
I'm getting the DLC for sure. I'm really hoping that when you're eventually able to suggest changes for your own villagers, I'll be able to give my lazy villagers dirt floors. Papi was my first lazy and he's been here forever, because if I make him leave he'll lose that dirt floor that gives him all the bugs he wants, lol. But if I can just give that to my villagers at some point, then I could bring Erik back for a bit. I have the cards for Erik and Papi because I'd wanted to swap them out now and then, but then realized I can't let Papi leave.

I really love the update! I never played the previous games so I think the pacing and content in the updates has almost always been fairly good. The DLC looks really good and I'm definitely buying it.
I'm not going to restart my island as I recently have and I haven't even started decorating properly yet, so I'm right in time for the new features haha :')
That said I think some people are being too harsh towards a paid dlc a bit too much. Despite the game needing some serious QoL from the start, it's still a game most people have poured 400-800 hours of gametime in, which is much better value for your buck compared to the majority of games out there. They've also been updating the game regularly, adding new things and half of the good things coming are not even DLC-bound. Not saying this to disagree with anyone's opinion, but just putting things into perspective a bit!

It'll probably also cost 25$ for the sake of localization. Game prizes generally don't follow currency worth~ :)
