What's your favorite animal that's no longer living? :0 Mosasaurus is one who comes to mind for me, dominating the waters all while looking like an entire unit is so cool.

Sometimes I cry when I think too hard about Benjamin the Thylacine, they were such cute little beasts and the poor boy was so alone :{ Also Quetzalcoatlus, they simply looked so sick and I very dearly wish they were still around so I could study one

the Quagga! it's an extinct subspecies of zebra that looked like... well, the best way to describe its appearance is "it looks like a horse with a reverse okapi pattern" since it has stripes on its head and neck but not on its butt. one was photographed while it lived in the London Zoo in 1870; the species was hunted to extinction in the late 19th century, so the mare at the London Zoo probably was one of the last mares of her species.

I have a lot of feelings for recently extinct animals, but special mention for the Falkland Islands wolf. The lil puppies' undoing was that they were TOO FRIENDLY!! People took advantage of their disposition and they were hunted to extinction ;(. To add insult to injury, it's scientific name is even "foolish dog of the south" which is just plain mean. The Falkland Islands wolf was literally too pure for this world, they didn't deserve that q_q
