A hub for Nuzlockers or Pokémon players in general to hang out and talk about one of the most popular video game challenges out there! Feel free to discuss or post anything relating to Nuzlockes! Whether that be examining/discussing the merits of different Pokémon lines, discussing your own ongoing Pokémon Nuzlockes, posting fanart/fiction/comics of your runs, or... well, anything relating to them really!
So, what is the Pokémon Nuzlocke Challenge anyways?
Very good question! The Pokémon Nuzlocke Challenge -which shall just be referred to as "Nuzlockes" from here on out -is a set of self-imposed rules that completely changes the way you play the games! There are many, many different variants, and optional rules, but the two core, unchanging rules are:
-You may only catch the first encountered Pokémon per area
-Once a Pokémon faints, they are considered dead, and must be released or boxed permanently
Sounds pretty intense, huh? Really ups the stakes! There's a ton of common, additional rules to make the challenge more fun/interesting/hard too! Some common ones include:
-You must name every Pokémon you catch
-You may go for a new encounter if your first is of a line you've already obtained before (commonly called the "Dupes Clause")
-Play in Set Mode
-Limit/disallow items in battle
-Limiting the max level of your Pokémon based on various factors
-Limiting the use of Pokécenters/other sources of free healing
And so much more! The sky's the limit when it comes to personalizing your Nuzlocke! This is really only scratching the surface of what a Nuzlocke an be! As for me? I'm pretty basic! I limit items, play in Set Mode, limit levels, Dupes Clause, name all my Pokémon, and have to fight every trainer, rather than being allowed to skip!
If the challenge sounds interesting to you, I'd highly recommend you'd try one for yourself! They can be really taxing, in a time, mental, and emotional way, but they're also really rewarding, and can make you see the series in such a new light! Things/Pokémon you may have never considered before could be what ends up saving your run!

-This is a hub for the Nuzlokce Challenge! If you want to discuss general Pokémon stuff, this isn't really the place for it! Please don't go off-topic! I really don't want this thing getting shut down!
-All FR rules apply! Don't be that guy who gets this shut down, since you don't follow the rules please! I just want a place to talk about my Nuzlocke, and other's Nuzlockes in peace!
-Please don't trash on any of the Pokémon games, or any Pokémon themselves! It's fine to be salty about something that happened, but it's a different matter entirely to go "omg x Pokémon is literally the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen why did it have to be my encounter??" Part of the Nuzlocke challenge is about opening your mind and heart to Pokémon you'd never really consider otherwise, and growing attached to them! Please keep in the spirit of that, and remember that, while it's fine to be upset, there are others who love these lines, or these games, and trashing on them is just rude and inconsiderate to them.
-As an addition to the last rule: it's okay if you're being critical of lines for balance reasons. It's not exactly a controversial opinion that, say, Sunkern isn't a statistically good Pokémon. Discussing balance, and what works/doesn't work is not only allowed, but encouraged! There's a huge difference between that, and just screaming about how much you despise this Pokémon for personal/biased reasons.
-Lastly! Please make sure to have fun, and enjoy your stay! If there's anything you think should be added/removed/changed about this little Hub, please do say! I'd love the critique!
Remember: no Pokémon is truly useless if they're your last hope! Sometimes you'll be stuck with that Sunflora you swore you'd never use, and they end up being the sole reason you keep going through their own merits. It happens, and maybe that'll really get you thinking? :)
