So the new starter variants for arceus were leaked today .....
And I am wildly disappointed.
If they were going to go to the effort of making variants, and they took so long to release them - I was really hoping for more than just recolours.
Samurott has never been my favorite, so I was really hoping to see a different 'model' . Maybe I gave into the hype, but ... man.
+ the new weavile & Quillfish variants .. also sort of a let down. With the stantler evolution + basculin evo which are pretty legit ... Once again I was really hoping for more
I dunno.
It's like they went all out on some and then just called it in on the others.
which is what we were all afraid of . I hope the game it's self doesn't crush my dreams as much as these recolours did.

Yeah, the new starters are uhhhh, really lazy? I mean I shouldn't be surprised at this point that they're kinda phoning stuff in. It's still gonna sell a million copies. But I wish they'd put SOME effort into making them look different enough from their original form.

I think maybe if they had released them at the start - i'd be more ok{?) with them.. But the fact they built up so much anticipation - for pretty much re-colours.
Yeah, that was a big let down.
the only 2 of the remaining pokes we had not seen I actually like were arcanine & ursaring .. the others were all meh'
And I know this is essentially just a remake ... but again they built up so much hype.

I was absolutely speechless when I saw the leaks. I didn't think Pokemon designs could get any worse, but GameFreak sure proved me wrong! [emoji=obelisk tongue size=2] But no matter how good or bad a Pokemon game is, it'll always sell by the millions, so there's not really an incentive to improve upon previous installments. I'll stick to playing the oldies but goodies, while saving $60 in the process!

I looked at the list of available Pokémon in Legends Arceus this morning and I was already disappointed at the number of common/basic Pokémon and lack of inclusion of Pokémon from later games.
Seeing the leaks really amplified that sense of disappointment for me.
I decided that I’m going to get Brilliant Diamond instead because I really wanna get into shiny hunting and BD has around 500 Pokémon in the National Dex.
I looked at the list of available Pokémon in Legends Arceus this morning and I was already disappointed at the number of common/basic Pokémon and lack of inclusion of Pokémon from later games.
Seeing the leaks really amplified that sense of disappointment for me.

I'm very glad in my choice to skip this game, I think the designs make it very clear that Legends doesn't have half the effort put into it that we thought (which wasn't much at all anyways). They made enough good designs for the trailers, nothing more.

and I do not like samurott but I actually think typhlosion is cute/has potential, bc at least in the leak I saw they were static and not animated? and I thought "oh maybe their fire comes out differently" bc theyre kinda wearing a necklace (its like the shiny reshiram effect. shiny reshiram is only okay until she animates and her butt glows neon pink, then I pledged my love to her). samurott may even be saved because in pokepark 2 he does retain usage of his front legs as hands and uses the swords on them As swords, so maybe the new samurott does too? so far my decision is "withhold judgement until I see them moving", but I COMPLETELY understand the disappointment. personally I was not expecting new evolutions, just regional variants, so this about matched my expectations

I actually like the [spoiler] therian forme of the new force of nature. its incarnate form makes me want to die but like. heart genbu/xuanwu??? my aesthetic, I love turtles, I love love. and tauric no arm palkia brings me the kind of joy that alolan exeggutor does. as does pog basculin[/spoiler] but I definitely feel the laziness on these designs and im. sigh. I had higher hopes for arceus because its not a main series technically speaking but. oh that sneasel. oh lord.
