Howdy!
I am a huge pet fan, and just want to talk about the ups and downs of pets!
Fell free to post your pets! Photos are welcomed!
Tell us your crazy pet stories!

About My Pets
I have four dogs and a bird but use to own fish.
It is a handful but I adore them all!

Niles
Species: Green Cheek Conure, Cinnamon Pineapple mutation
Age: 2 years old
About Him:
Niles is a male green cheek conure. He is about two and I have had him for around a year and a half. He does have his wings clipped for safety, and is not flight trained. He like raspberries, black berries and straw berries. He despises tomato and carrot.

Tucker
Species: Black Mouth Cur, Rhodesian Ridgeback mix
Age: 5 years old
About Him:
Tucker is a rescue, like all our dogs. We adopted him from our local shelter as our second dog since moving. He has horrible separation anxiety and is a huge chewer. He eats the tomato’s and carrots thrown to him by Nile’s.

Sadie
Species: Beagle, German Shepherd mix [We think]
Age: 3 years old
About Her:
Sadie is a beauty. She was rescued from a farm that was going to take her to a shelter to be put down. She choose us and thinks she the boss. She and Tucker act like an old married couple. For the smallest dog we have, she has the biggest attitude.

Koda
Species: Great Dane, Boxer, Pitbull mix [We have no clue]
Age: 1 years old
About Him:
While on the way being picked up form swim, he ran in front of our car, and dated pass construction trucks. He was so small he fit in the palm of your hand and his whole face was covered in fleas. I remember holding him in a towel from swim and saying “The dirt is moving” He has now become bigger than my knee and as healthy as can be. No chew toy is safe!

Annabel
Species: Black lab mix
Age: 10 years old
About Her:
Annabel is our oldest. Her story is one not many would tell. As a hunting dog, her tail was doxxed and she was left on a duck hunting field pregnant. Taken by a shelter, they stripped her of her puppies to put her down. The rescue center took her and we manage to get her to open up. She is a strong girl, and deserves the world.

Have An Amazing Day!
I have 10 pets....
Lilly cat
Lilly Cat, or just Lilly is our oldest animal. She Is a Gorgeous very fat tortoise-shell cat, her tail looks like it doesn't belong to her since while she is fairly dark colors her tailtip is cream colored! She attacks it sometimes but stops once she bites to hard. She has dementia and will scream all night if we don't leave the TV on for her
Nova
Nova is our other cat. She is a inside-outside black cat and No one likes her because she is a jerk
Ripley Joe
Ripley is our great Pyrenees lab mix and is our biggest lap dog. She is really loud and barks at everything, but despite that she is a huge sweetheart! A few years ago we learned she was epileptic so she had to take medicine for a few months. She has only had 4 episodes since then
Malory Mayford
Malory is husky Australian Shepard mix with heterochromia. She has way to much energy and escapes at least 2 times every month. The only time she barks is if you step on her tail but other than that she is completely quiet. She also wants to eat our ducks
Cerci
Cerci is our very spoiled chihuahua that we rescued off the streets. She hates men, especially men with beards. We assume she hates men so much because she was abused in her old home. When we rescued Cerci our plan was to rehome her but she grew way to attached to my mom so we kept her.
Francis
Francis is my precious baby boi. He is a normal ball python that I got for my birthday. He is really friendly and hasn't bitten anyone yet. He hates Malory since she has licked him multiple times, he also probably doesn't like Lilly since she shoved him off my bed once.
Merry and Pippin
Merry and Pippin are our fawn and white runner ducks. Unlike our cayugas they are super chill and run away from the cats. Like all ducks they loooove peas and clovers
Elvira and ***** Danger
Elvira and ***** are our cayuga ducks. They are really Sassy and bite the cats tails every time they see them. They are also way louder than the runners

That's all my pets, also known as my spoiled little babies

I'll just talk about my dog Artemis and my cat Little J (I have more pets but they're lizards so they don't do a lot of notable things)

Artemis, aka Artie, is my Great Pyr. I've had her sense tiny bopper stages, she came from a BYB -I know better now- and was supposed to be a working LGD. Only that gig didn't exactly work out, because she has prey drive that's largely directed at small animals. And we got her to guard the hens, though given a choice she'd rather chase em. She does "protect" me from vultures and mockingbirds though. She LOVES to protect our property and the neighbor's from anything and everything, usually huffing and barking at the "threats".

She's very well trained despite the reputation that usually comes with her breed -that being stubborn and not so biddable-. She knows a multitude of commands and is more than willing to do them 9.5 outta 10 times. We're still working on a few things, but it isn't anything I think I can't deal with. She likes playing with my mom's mutt, or well trying to. She enjoys playing on stumps and rocks and enjoys a kibble reward for doing so. We're working on fully expanding the basics to any and every environment. She's window reactive thanks to my mom's mutt, we're managing that with window clings to break the line of sight so there's no rehearsal of the behavior. She is, unfortunately, dog reactive thanks to the irresponsible nature of the others living on our street and the unpredictable nature of the dogs roaming at large. Sometimes she gets more guard-y than others, though that's usually result of something lacking (stimulation). Sometimes she can be a bit vocal, but that isn't an often thing.

She's very spoiled, with nearly 40 dishes/feeders of her own. I have an addiction to buying slow feeders and puzzle feeders for her. She has 3 toy baskets, 2 smaller ones filled to the brim with toys that I still need to organize better. Her favorite toys tend to be flat ones with squeakers and crinkle paper, if they resemble animals she favors them more. Her few big favorites are: The Chipmunk twins, Flat Fox, Flat Raccoon, and a Hammer and Wrench toy from Lowes. She also enjoys to watch fish swim in the pond, I expect some day she will jump in if she sees the chance.

Then there's Jaws, aka Little J. He's my moggy from behind a fast food joint. He was snatched up by my sister after about a 30 minute battle to get him close enough to grab. 1 french-fry and 30 minutes later he was wrapped in her scarf and started his journey to becoming my cat -unknowingly-. We swung by a pet store and got an appropriate travel box for him, which he tried eating through like a shark. Which is where he got his name "Jaws", because it looked like a bad remake of a scene from the movie Jaws. Later he was stuck in our bathroom to eat and I took to calling him Little J because he was a small kitten -about 6 months old when we found him-. We were supposed to take him to a rescue but I ended up keeping him. Now he's a butt, but I still love him. He's missing some teeth despite not being that old. He likes to play by swatting at you and grabbing your arm to "bite". He likes chewing on inappropriate things and will do it unless you stop him.

This is so unorganized and random I'm sorry.

wow, the pets described here have such stories and personality ^^

i used to have a maincoon cat named terk; he lived from 4/2006 to 12/2021. he was super affectionate and friendly, even with people he had never met before. big guy was my childhood companion. i miss him, but i don't think i'll get another cat.

currently, i have a 20gal long fish tank with corydoras catfish, a honey gourami, glowlight tetras, and a clown pleco. there are also a few snails cleaning the glass for me bwaha. although fish don't have as much interaction as cats and dogs do, my honey gourami mango has a ton of personality! he likes to come up to the glass and wave at you with his feelers. he always sleeps in the same spot every night. he loves eating all my plants orz

i also have a 5.5gal shrimp colony! the little guys are "neocaridina davidi," a small species of freshwater shrimp. mine are yellow, with a bold stripe along their backs! they just recently had a bunch of babies hatch. they're all so fun to watch and take care of ^^

taking art comms! :-)
I'm super passionate about animals and once I'm done with university I plan to get a whole lot more of em! To me owning pets is more of a hobby instead of just having them around yknow ^^ I especially really love the training aspect of it.

We've got 2 cats back at my parent's home, they're siberian cats named Nala and Noura. They're absolutely the sweetest. I put a lot of work into training them and I fully trust them around all of my stuff even if I'm not there. People always seem surprised that cats can be well behaved too.
Noura is a bit more shy but once she really trusts you she's the sweetest cuddle bug ever. If I'm at my parents house she's basically my shadow, following me everywhere.
Nala is a lot more daring and very curious. She loves to play but can be very cuddly too, she really likes chilling outside in her harness.

Just two weeks ago I got my first puppy, she's the first pet that I legally own and who I bought myself. She's a yellow lab named Toast. She's so sweet and amazing, but she still kind of thinks she's the boss around here xD She's very smart too, if I'm not giving her enough attention she'll go do the exact things I've taught her not to do just to get a reaction out of me.
Though she is afraid of other dogs right now. I actually got a trainer to walk with me today and we got some really helpful tips, she think's Toast will be over her fear in no time. She was actually very surprised that Toast is my first dog and said that I was doing a really great job raising her. Which I was super glad to hear, I did a lot of research before getting her.
Right now she only knows a few commands, but I plan on doing trick training with her in the future once she's got the basics down!

aaa i love reading these so id like to add mine!!
lil shawty
species: betta fish
i got him when i first starting working at a pet store and immediately fell in love with his pretty colors. I've had him for almost 8 months and absolutely adore him, and loves coming to the top of the tank when he sees me walk into my room

boo bee
species: bumble bee ball python
i also bought her when i saw her being sold at the pet store, and did not want an inexperienced snake owner to own her, because she has the spider gene wobble. she often misses her food, but i love her to death and is so friendly to handle. she's just adorable honestly and has a constant :3 face on

nova and luna
species: seal point siamese
they aren't siblings but they're both around the same age! they're hypoallergenic and help with my brothers allergies! they're both around 4 years old now and nova acts like an old grandpa who's done with everybody's **** but demands to be held if you walk by him.
luna on the other hand... is evil. we thought she was super sweet and chill but she constantly bites and attacks us. we've had her for almost a year (we got her at 3 years old), and when we first met her she was the sweetest thing. it was a LIE!! i still love her tho, even tho i have permanent scars from her >:C

Hii! Leopard gecko owner here! First and foremost, the most important thing I will say on this comment (/j) is that leopard geckos are freakin adorable! I’ve got a little lizard named Lizzo sitting in my room and she is the weirdest little dude!
If you’re a reptile lover (like me) and your parents are terrified of snakes (like mine) and won’t let you get one (like mine) talk to them about lizards! I got mine around 2 years ago and my mom loves her!
But as fearsome as a death stare as she will give you if you wake her from her naps, she cannot catch her own food for the life of her! Sometimes I’ll put an extra lil snack in her terrarium just to see what she’ll do. Usually she doesn’t even notice it, once she even stepped on a Dubia Roach I gave her! I’m 90% sure she just wants me to give it up and feed her it directly. Rotten little dude, I tell you!

I am the proud owner of a Norwegian Forest Cat named Nilla (named after a cookie brand). He’s gorgeous, he has orange tabby fur and blue eyes

Nilla is by far the most affectionate cat I’ve ever owned, he absolutely loves to be petted and greatly enjoys being the center of attention (and will throw a fit when he isn’t)

He’s extremely talkative and has an impressive range of different meows. And last but certainly not least, he loves to knead flannel blankets and bathrobes

I have 11 cats & 2 dogs, but I feel like I'll clog the thread if I talk about all of em, so I'll just talk about 1 cat & 1 dog!

-Romi is a lynx ragdoll; recent edition to the family! i love him because he loves me and i relate to him the most. he's the goofiest cat i ever met and does not care about ANYTHING. he's a bit of an attention hog, always trying to get the older cats to groom him, so they tend to slap him with no claws as a warning. he, however, acts like it didn't even happen and continues until finally one of the slaps registers in his snail brain and he gets all mopey & sad until me or my mom give him love. though lucky for him, our other kittens (particularly our lovely sweet kiki <3) are always willing to play or groom him! also, he is literally boneless, you put one finger vaguely on him and he just...flops. you wanna hold him? good luck, he's HUGE and still not done growing, and will not support himself in the SLIGHTEST! we love his silly self to bits, it's so fun to carry him places. he likes when i take him into my mom's room (an off-limits area) and she shakes his paws. you can literally pet him anywhere and anyway and he loves it to bits; gets mad if you stop, the little attention hog!! he comes up to lay with me every single morning that i wake up with his funny-sounding half-meows, flopping on me and kneading like a man on a mission. i love that boy he's crazy

-isabelle, my emotional support dog; a chocolate labrador! she's my daughter, my baby, my perfect little woof woof. she's always there for me when i'm at my lowest or have nightmares (which are frequent for me), she's ALWAYS excited (sometimes a little too excited! if she sees a new person she just blanks on every bit of training she's had over her 6 year lifespan >_<'), and very very playful. she's always motivating me to get up and actually do what i need to do & go on a walk, primarily because i'd hate to disappoint her! she's such a sweet lil darling, who has also been obsessed with peanut butter things her entire life. i honestly don't know where i'd be without her, she was the first animal i truly raised myself, and she truly is like a daughter to me. i would fight every human being on earth & every god in the sky for her.

also @antisocialbutter PLEASE give lil shawty a lil air kiss from me he is perfect. immaculate. next cover of vogue. Sending the most luxurious decorations & foods to him via carrier pigeon ASAP!!!

Before Koda, Sadie and Nile’s and even Tucker, I use to have a habit of accidentally bringing home fish. It started with me bringing home minnows in a plastic take out containers. These had been from my elementary school and to say my parents where sooo thrilled at their tiny grub of a child, round cheeks smeared in dirt, crying about not having a big enough bucket to keep them in. They had to take me to the store and we got a cheap plastic round fish bowl (They got me nothing to truly take care of the fish due to they knew they would not last a week.) One fateful day, I decided to clean the bowl, and it melted in the dishwasher. Durning that time, my minnows became past tense in the plastic cup. I sobbed finding the two belly up, tears flowed from my eyes as I go take them to the bathroom and salute these tiny minnows down the toilet. I would not stop crying so my parents got me Blueberry and Fireball!!

Beta Galore

My parents use to own beta fish so they decided I could learn to properly take care of a fish. They got two male beta fish, a dark blue one my brother named Blueberry and my gosh, Fireball! Fireball was a red fish with bright blue streaks in his fins. I adored them. We started by getting the five gallon tank, and some sand. After we got the sand, I choose out a little trinket cove for them. Few weeks later, the algae got to bad and fireballs eye was become white and fuzzy plus he had weird white stuff on his fin. Looked it up, it was due to the algae sooo cleaned the tank, got five plants and chemicals for the water. It went fine for two years, I adored fireball (and somewhat liked Blueberry) but he was not getting better with his eyes. It started to bulge out and we worried his eye would killed him. We did the right thing and found a fish expert who took him in. He had a white beta and was wanting to get more, but owned other fish. He sent a picture to us explaining he removed Fireballs eyeball but he love his new 10 gallon tank! I would not have another fish for a few years, before I proceed to take home guppies in a water bottle.

Guppies!!

Finale of fish I have owned (it was originally going to be more about other than just fish but we are doing all the fish!)
In the eighth grade, I just asked my science teacher if I could have a guppie baby, she gave me two and we put them in a water bottle. Getting in the car, my mom was shocked to see me holding a water bottle of fish. However, we went and got them a five gallon tank, snails, plants and sand. The two fish, Maggie and the other one who I forgot his name, proceeded in a year two have sixteen babies. But before I could rehome the babies, Maggie ate them all, except three. She also ate the second original fish. The three babies however proceeded to eat her. I was shocked but it was cool to let the ecosystem do its thing. The fished survived for three years before Sushi ate Shrek and Yoda. The tank was leaking and I am broke so I released Sushi to a pond.

Conclusion

Fish are awesome and it would be awesome to have more fish. I want to have some simple guppies, minnows, maybe a few goldfish. It hard work to have fish so I don’t know how some of the much bigger fish owners do it. It really is rewarding to have a pet! I enjoyed reading all of your pets and wish them long healthy lives!
I am loving reading everyone stories!
