General Discussion

Things that are widely considered low quality or 'cringe' by others, but frankly, you can't get enough of! I think it's awesome to hear what things people enjoy regardless of what others think about them. I'll go first, and be warned, some of mine are oddly specific.

- AJR (apparently people don't like them)
- the Dreamworks movie "Home"
- Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (especially the movie but also in part the book)
- all the new generations of Pokemon, tbh even as a long time fan I think the Alola games were hands down the best
- reality TV of pretty much any type, idc if it's staged it brings joy ;-;

Oh I agree with you about Pokémon. I do see why some people don’t like the newer games, but it’s not worth the drama. It’s not that deep, it’s just a funky game about collecting funky monsters. Honestly, Legends Arceus might be my all-time favorite Pokémon game.

Also, the musical Firebringer. I know that there’s outright better musicals out there, but Firebringer’s my favorite. The soundtrack slaps, and I love those cavegays. Hell, I stole the name of the main character bc she gave me gender

People don't like AJR? Man, I love that band. Their music is top-notch relatable stuff.

The live action Cat in the Hat movie, and the Tim Burton version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They were two of my favorite movies for a while. I had them both on DVD and I'd play them on my PS2 cause I didn't have a DVD player in my room. I would not only watch the movies, but all the deleted scenes and behind the scenes bonus content, I loved to see all the different things that went into making these movies. My interest in film very likely stemmed from these special features.

These films bring me such joy that I am incapable of being unbiased in my opinions, they're probably not good but I can't help but want to recommend them.

I recently watched the Venom movie and apparently people thought it was bad? I think it was pretty fun.

Most of the Final Fantasy fandom dislikes to outright hates FFXV, it seems. It has its flaws (mainly the sheer amount of cut content) but honestly I’ve enjoyed it for about 200 hours already and show no signs of stopping. I love the boys and their dynamics, the world concept, and the soundtrack is AMAZING. Genuinely could listen to some of the battle themes for hours without getting tired of it

The Ice Age movies were never high-brow to begin with, but you can't tell me the first one didn't its heartfelt moments. Like this. (And no, I don't care what memes you've seen about the baby. I really don't.) I couldn't bring myself to see the fifth one, though.

I have a pink coffee mug with a photoshopped picture of putin and trump, both shirtless on a horse if that counts??? I don't like either of these two and I don't like pink that much either and thats why for some weird reason it's my favorite mug.

Oh and I like spiders a lot!

Otome games/Romance Visual Novels that have women as their main target group. They're a guilty pleasure of mine, especially if they're well written. But I grew up with people calling tham bad and cringe and saying that girls shouldn't enjoy dating sims like boys do so I never dared to play them until I moved into my own home.

apparently marmaduke got bad ratings but its my favorite movie of all time. Very fun watch, at least to past me
