Share your stories of tiny little critters in your house that just won't stop being quirky.
Here's mine:
So my cat will sometimes take a dump while looking me in the eye (her litterbox is in my room). Now, I also have a lizard. I look over at the 10g tank I have for her. My little green anole is basking. She looks me in the face, staring. And then takes a poo. I think my cat taught my lizard something. I'm a little scared they're plotting something, haha.

one dog can catch things no problem, even started doing some crazy jumps and backflips but then the other has no depth perception at all

freya: jumps 3 feet, catches ball perfectly

bup: bites a foot to the side away from the treat two inches in front of her

fun fact: pets tend to look at you while taking a poop bc they trust you to look out for possible danger while they're in that vulnerable position

My ball python likes to wrap around my head and pull my glasses off with his tail. He does it almost every time I bring him out.

not my pets, I hope this counts.

at the stable where I ride, there's this horse named Tornado. Tornado tolerates most people, but there are only a few people he likes. one of these people had an accident and needed to rest her leg for a few weeks, which meant she needed a wheelchair. she still wanted to come say hi to Tornado, so she came to the stable, in her wheelchair, while one of Tornado's other favorite people was taking care of him. Tornado did not understand the wheelchair and kept sniffing it and looking extremely confused, as confused as I've ever seen a horse look.
hilariously, Tornado later had that same response when his other favorite person had an accident and needed crutches for a few weeks. he just did not understand what these weird not-legs were.

at the same stable, there's a few privately owned horses and one of them is Jim. Jim is a very polite and friendly horse who wouldn't harm a fly, and Jim knows the way back to his stall from the paddock. so, whenever Jim is taken out of the paddock in the evening to go back to his stall for dinner, he just trots home on his own while his owner leads his paddock buddy back to her stall (don't worry, the path is literally a straight line of roughly 100 meters and it's all within the same fenced in terrain, there's no danger). sometimes Jim stops to beg for treats if he encounters people on the way, and once he kept coming back to me for treats (I had my treat bag open) so I just ended up taking the treat bag and leading him to his stall before giving him a treat. another time, Jim's owner was taking a long time to get his paddock buddy ready for bed (she was being a brat and kept trying to escape and get to the hay storage), so eventually Jim wandered out of his stall to go see what was taking so long.

another privately owned horse once just wandered out of his stall for no reason whatsoever. this was an elderly very gentle horse who I know really well, there was no danger (again, fenced in terrain), and all I had to do to get him back home was to pick up a leadrope and walk towards him, he just went back to his stall on his own. turns out the door was a little broken and he'd probably jiggled it open just by playing with the handle (two-part stall door, top half is open during the day). door got fixed the next day.

I just got back from a trip and they keep on walking in, purring, glancing up at my bed, and running away. Jerks. I can see the cat tree from here and I keep on getting rude looks.

Sometimes they sleep in my dirty clothes hamper...

One of them will curl up on my rug after licking it for a few minutes and fall asleep. She's also very aggressive whenever she wants cuddles, she'll slam into you and meow until you give her attention.

The other one will follow me around everywhere in hopes for a treat. I have almost fallen down the stairs multiple times... He will also wake me up in the middle of the night, lead me downstairs, and sit by his bowl and meow at me. The bowl is full, and the only thing that makes him stop meowing is if I pet him while he eats. So I HAVE to do it until he finishes, because otherwise the little alarm will wake up everyone else in the house.

They have a window seat. I could leave it at that, they're cats. So I'll wake up as soon as the sun comes up (and sometimes when it's still dark out), to one of the cats attacking my blinds to the point of almost breaking them. So then I have to get up and either open the blinds or shove the cat out of my room. Fun times.

Those are among a few instances of my pets being pets...

No, remember? I'm the one who's supposed to kidnap you?

My cat likes being beat. I'm not talking about like a bapping-beat. She will just sit there and purr with enjoyment as you beat her like you're aggressively playing bongos on her side, and dear eleven if you stop your will not hear the end of her begging with her high picked "HELLOOOOO?'' meow.

This one time my dog managed to tangle himself in my bedsheets and fall off the bed in the middle of the night. He weights over 30kg, so it sounded like a sack of potatoes hitting the ground. He was fine but he was SO confused, since the fall woke him up, and it took me a good couple minutes to manage to untagle him. He's my silly goose ♥
He also used to be afraid of his own shadow as a puppy. He'd bark at it to try to scare it away.

So, at my mother's place, theres a goldfish names Rasberry (my lil sister's) & an old grumpy female cat named Duchesse (Dutchess in french).
When it's 7am & 6pm, it's time for their meal. Dutchess will literally meow all around the house, scratch at doors for you to give her food. Until then, she is a pain in the booty, and afterwards she's grumpy. Rasberry will LITERALLY (and I'm not joking) "spit" bubbles at the frame(?) of its aquarium, making a lot of noise & if we don't feed it, it spits the small rocks at the bottom of its tank (still not joking lol) to still make noise to get fed.
Here is the thing: You CANNOT feed one without the other making a raffus, jealous to not get fed first.
If Rasberry get's fed first, Dutchess will meow as loud as she can and sometimes she will even hide in anger you didn't fed her.
If Dutchess get's fed first, Rasberry will spit more bubbles and swim "angrily" (lol), splashing water...

Also:
-Rasberry loves being petted on its belly as its often sick as so it floats/sinks and doesn't bother turning arround so sometimes we are scared it's dead.
-Rasberry loves garlic flavored fish food (we give it garlic too, when its sick)
-Dutchess "knows" when someone is alergic to cats and directly jumps on that person's lap (we keep her in when te person it's seriously alergic)
-Dutchess gets the urge to poop when there's freshly turned soil (I am a "gardener" and work in my mother's garden during some weekends and it's very annoying to find her "gifts" in the soil when I left 5minutes to get a plant or something)
-Dutchess loves being outside but since she's a scardy cat, she hates being there alone so when someone is in the garden, she keeps running arround, hunts leaves and jumps on trees (she's 15 lol)
-Dutchess doesn't know how to hunt but tries. she doesnt hunt anything bigger than a butter fly but sometimes fakes to hunt big fat pigeons. She's gonna stay in unting position for minutes, staring at her "prey" but she will never jump. & if you make the pigeon fly away, she looks at you with a deadly stare of "you stupid hooman, you made my prey leave!" (also: pigeons became aware she's never gonna jump lol so they aren't affraid of her)

That's a lot of funny facts about them. If I get more, I'll write them lol

So these were kinda bad manners of my pup that we worked on so she doesn’t do it as much anymore but it’s still hilarious.

Basically I have to force my puppy to take naps right, so after about an hour or so of being awake I put her in her crate to take a nap. Which she is fine with but whenever she would be out of her crate she wanted to do everything together. Not in the sense of me playing with her or cuddling her, no she wanted to chew something while I just watched. So whenever she was out of her crate and she felt like I didn’t pay enough attention to her she would go and do every single bad behavior I taught her she wasn’t allowed to do. Like she would walk right up to my desk, look me right in the eye and put the cord of my computer in her mouth. Not even chewing it or anything just looking at me. It was super funny and adorable but I did train it out of her since it’s not how I want her to get my attention.

What she also knew is that she shouldn’t bark in the apartment, for obvious reasons. So then whenever I wasn’t paying enough attention to her she would kinda whine at first, then look me right in the eye and do a little huff. Like I’m gonna bark if you don’t pay attention *right now*. Then a few more huffs and then a bark. But basically every time she barked I would leave and go to a different room she can’t get to to basically take all of the attention away. So then after that if she started huffing I would just look at her like do it I dare you and usually she stopped and would go do something else :’) She’s getting a lot better at just playing by herself sometimes but man is it funny to watch her throw a little temper tantrum
