I am constantly cycling between wanting to have a cute, childish aesthetic and also looking tough and intimidating and scary.

I know exactly what you mean! Mine are something like
- Pine forests! - like a firelit cabin in the woods over a lake, a bit like cottagecore, I'm thinking of the kinda landscape around Canada (though I've never been there I know I'd love it haha) Every surface must contain a pot plant.
- Space + galaxies- all purple and stars and nebulas and <3 !! A bit grungey but in a more optimistic than emo way lol. Defined by generic photos printed on cheap fabrics, you know the ones with the weirdly smooth texture (is this just me and my sensory issues? lol)
- Cute pastels - this is more something I naturally gravitate towards than anything, it's all the childish dusty pinks and pale blues and the fuzzy beige of wool <3 Think warm overcoats and nice rugs, and lots of plushies! My room is decorated in this kinda vibe!
I feel like just looking at the colour pallets of these alone- they do not match. I've lived with these vibes together for so long though they kinda fit or at least bleed together, at least the space + forest aesthetics combine well to just... a forest at night haha ^ ^
I have a bit of a grungy aesthetic like you too! It's also mostly in my music taste since I too am concerned by people's judgement but I really admire all the edgy and punkish and scene kinda vibes like <3 The edgy teen in me still finds people who dress like that the absolute coolest :D

i absolutely LOVE tropical print shirts. if there's a toucan or a flamingo or some flowers on it, i want it. i have some major "dad on a cruise" vibes. i am a vaguely more human shaped golden retriever. i'd wear a corny fishing shirt without a hint of irony. not exactly the kind of person you'd guess has at least four Real Skulls, several pinned bugs, and a prized collection of wet specimens.
meanwhile my water bottle is plastered with huge red medical warning labels, including a neuromuscular blocking agent warning i painstakingly recreated and got printed into stickers, SPECIFICALLY so i could put it on my water bottle. there's also a cute shedinja sticker on it too, but it is sandwiched between the aforementioned warning label and the Health Hazard chemical label. it's a weird aesthetic, but i do have fun with it :^)

same dude, i cycle between the vibe of a forty-year old park ranger who lives deep in the forest and the vibes of a teenager who does mediocre tarot readings and lights too much incense.

obnoxious tropical print is so fun! i have these silk pants that are bright gold and covered in tropical birds and i love wearing them so much, even though many people think they're ugly. i save them for special occasions ;)
my bf once wore a hawaiian shirt with a pair of chameleon-print swim trunks and i loved it. mans looked like a dad.
also @galaxywings48 i totally feel you about the clashing color palletes. i remember trying to sum up my "aesthetic" into a color palette and realizing that i simply like too many different color combinations lol

Being a fan of vulture culture while also owning a lot of Hawaiian shirts and fun graphic tees will do that to you
Might also be worth noting that I own three pairs of swim trunks that I occasionally wear as shorts, just because.

Regarding forum games, please only select dragons who have familiars - those are the permanent residents of my lair. Feel free to look through the hibernal den, too
i always give my dragons their own aesthetics but try to sort them into colour tabs but then im like "hmm no ill sort them by aesthetic" then realise there's like 2 dragons to each aesthetic and its too expensive to buy that many tabs and then i change their aesthetics and it gets so chaotic
my main aesthetics are probably ummm
plantcore/plant mom
darkcore
dazecore

Idk if they're conflicting so much as sister genres, but I love both the boho leaning feywild look (which I would separate from cottagecore- yes nature aesthetics, but mine lean more towards those people who dress as fae at ren faire or brian frouds art or faerie ring type stuff- more unicorns and those very classically hippie upscyled clothing), but also more gothic aesthetics- I love vampires and werewolves and rain upon victorian london. In the middle for me would be like, hags and such- where high fantasy nature nonsense meets 'well thats a bit gross and dark'. This applies for both what fantasy work I am drawn to + what dnd games I run, but also how my room is furnished lol.
If we are talking clothes or fr however, then it just becomes earth tones + nothing too flashy. Most of my clothing is barn clothes / practical clothes rather than anything to make a fashion statement.
