TOPIC | My Diet Cokes are bleeding
1 2
I have a small Diet Coke addiction and go through ~a 12 pack a week.

But for the last few weeks every pack has one (1) can that is squishy.

The can always has a small puncture somewhere around the top or bottom of the can, with little dribbly soda stains bleeding out. The seal is broken, so the cans are no good to drink.

Why?? Why just one can every time??
If you've been suffering in silence like me with this please tell.

I once got a pack of Dr Peppers a few weeks ago that had a few that were dented and one that was leaking. Gonna guess something went wrong during the shipping process.

I threw out the one that was leaking, but the dented ones were fine - I could only barely open them with the pull tab and had to pour them in a glass instead. Or I'd shotgun them.

my family gets soda every time we go camping in our RV.

well we got a bunch of cokes last time, but for some reason the very top of some of the cans were dented. It made the cans almost impossible to open with the steel tab at the top, but I managed to open one and it was kind of awkward getting the soda out of it.

that was the only soda related issue i had in a while

I've had this happen a few times. 8'D

Most recent was a palette of Coca Cola, still sealed in plastic from the factory when I brought it home.
Removed the plastic, noticed the layer of cardboard on the bottom was wet. Inspected further, sticky wetness on the cans, droplets on the plastic... and also, the majority the cans were badly scuffed and dented in.

Around 5 cans were half full. One was completely empty.

Somewhere between bottling and packaging, these cans had been knocked around so hard they got mangled... and yet QC let the palette through. X'D

It's most likely a result of either poor handling/packaging by whoever is doing the delivery to the store you're getting them from, but there's also a possibility that there might be a manufacturing problem at work here. A small chance, but a chance nonetheless.

And this might sound alarming, but could also be deliberate interference by someone. Not necessarily in the malicious sense, but could be someone at the store just being "That Guy" and messing with the cans.

Either way, might be a good idea to mention it to the store you're buying them from, because one or two packs is just bad luck, but if there has been several like this, then there's something needs looking at somewhere along the line.

Tbh, I love it when they get mangled in transfit, because my local store removes to empty or damaged cans and then sells the now-one-or-two-short pack for a huge discount. I often get 24 packs of Pepsi knocked down from £10 all the way down to £2 as a result of this happening, or six-to-five packs of Cola down to less than £1 from £7.

Well, when I'm lucky enough to grab them because they go QUICK XD
