There are some questions that seem to come up often so I thought I would try to collect the answers in one place.

*Note: It is a very good idea to visit the encyclopedia which you can find on the side bar under the Library heading. It has detailed information on dragon breeds, customization (including skins and genes), and what you can do on the site. This includes more details on a lot of the answers that are condensed on this page and it's provided by official sources.*

Dragons

When do dragons grow up?
Dragons become adults at the age of 5, however if you can’t wait you may use a Scroll of Maturity and they will become adults. Hatchlings grow up at site rollover (midnight) on their 5th day. In other words, the first midnight after their age displays as 5 they should grow up. Adult dragons can fight in the coliseum, wear apparel, and represent you as an avatar. If these steps don't help, either a Scroll of Eternal Youth was used on them (there should be a related icon) OR there is a bug.

Can my dragon die?
No, your dragon will not die from ageing, sickness or starvation. The only way a dragon will leave your care is if you sell, trade, or exalt them.

Why is my dragon so small? Do dragons grow?
Dragons (including progenitors) grow until they are 15-35 days old. Their final size is somewhere within the range for their breed but the final size is random.
*Note: There is currently a bug with some breeds where the parent's size will reset upon breeding, they will grow up again by the time their cool down period is over.*

Feeding and Energy

What is the well fed bonus?
When you keep your clan’s energy at or above 80% for three days in a row you receive some daily benefits:
  • +5 gathering turns
  • +1 gem
  • +250 treasure
  • +15% experience from the coliseum
To get the benefit you must keep the clan’s energy above 80% for 3 whole days. If the energy drops to 79% or lower you will need to start again, so watch your energy levels.

When does energy decrease?
Energy decreases when you flee in the coliseum (-2 energy for each participating dragon) or have your team knocked out (-5 energy for each participating dragon). It also decreases throughout the day, as of November 12, 2013 every dragon in your clan will lose 1 energy point every 8 hours (as stated by Xhaztol in a news post).

What food does my dragon eat?
You can see a list of the types of food that each breed will eat if you hover over their picture in the clan menu or you can check out the encyclopedia entry for the breed. Picky dragon types will eat first, for example a fae dragon (insects only) will eat before the guardian will (meat, fish, insects, plants). If there are several foods that the dragon can eat it will prefer to eat the first thing in the list. For example, if you had only plants to eat, your guardian would eat them, but if you have fish and plants the guardian would consume the fish first. Tie breaking is done by ID, i.e. the fae with the lowest number will eat before any other fae you have.
Note: There is a bug with newer species (Imperial, Coatl and Nocturne) where they will eat after all other breeds, regardless of ID or diet.

How many food points do I need?
1 food point will restore 1 energy for 1 dragon, assuming it is a food type that dragon will consume. To determine what food types your dragon will eat, please see the previous paragraph.
Remember that some dragons such as those on your coliseum team, those coming from another player (through auction house or crossroads), or those that haven't been fed for a bit (due to lack of appropriate food points); may require more energy than your other dragons.

What happens when my dragon loses energy?
When your dragon loses energy it may become unable to breed or fight in the coliseum, it will not die or become sick due to having low energy.
At less than 80% energy (40/50) your dragon is no longer able to breed and their name will not appear in the breeding list.
At less than 40% (20/50) they can no longer fight in the coliseum (they will disappear from your party and display with a red overly in the party select menu).
These limitations can be corrected by feeding them so that they have enough energy again.

What happens when clan energy reaches 0?
There are no penalties associated with a clan energy of 0. However, dragons that have too little energy are unable to fight or breed.

I have food but can't feed my dragons. How do I restock food points?
The food you see in your hoard are still items. These items can be traded and sold to people, but you can't feed them to your dragon that way. You have to convert them to food points by selecting them in your hoard and using the convert button. Each item will give you a certain number of food points (which you can see when you mouse over the item) and these points will show up on the top bar while you are in your lair area. You can then use the Feed button to feed your dragons.

Exalting and Dominance

Exalting
Dragons from your clan can be exalted to serve your deity, they will serve your god regardless of which flight they originally came from. They will leave a small amount of treasure and occasionally gems depending on their coliseum level, and contribute to the dominance of your flight. Once they’ve gone they won’t come back, so be very careful who you send to do their patriotic duty. Progenitors can now be exalted but they will not contribute to dominance or give you any reward.

What are the rewards for exalting?
Progenitors do not give any rewards or contribute to dominance when they are exalted. For all other dragons the rewards are as follows:
  • A boost to your Flight's dominance (See the next topic for more information).
  • 2000-3000 treasure for a level one dragon and (an estimated) 1500 per additional level.
  • Rarely you will also get a small number of gems.
Currently I have no estimation for the drop chance or amount of gems.
  • Space in your lair.

[center][b]Breeding, Colours and Cooldown[/b][/center] [i]Can different breed types of dragons breed?[/i] Any breed of dragon can breed with any other... somehow. [i]The hatchling preview lied or Why doesn't my Hatchling look like the preview?[/i] The hatchling preview only shows you 4 possible offspring at a time, there is no guarantee that those combinations are the ones you are going to get. For a better idea of possible offspring try getting several previews and check out how colour inheritance works. [i]How do colours work?[/i] With the help of this handy wheel you can find the potential colours of the offspring. *I am looking to find (or make) a free for use colour wheel image, in the meantime here is the sites colour previews: Starred Coatls are new colours, and a larger picture can be found [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/ann/1880521]here[/url]* [img]http://flightrising.com/dropbox/howodd/177_turquoise.jpg[/img] Look at the colours of the parent dragons and find the shortest distance between them. All colours on this path are possible outcomes. This is why a black dragon and a red dragon might have pink or white babies. If you would rather have a computer figure out potential offspring colours, you can use Scrying Workshop's Foresee Progeny to get some examples. This feature works the same way as the offspring preview in your nest and therefore won't show every potential offspring, but you can use it to see the offspring of individuals you don't own yet. If you are going to buy a dragon, don't forget to check their pedigree to make sure they can mate with the dragon you have in mind (you can check this with Assay Bloodlines). If you would like to get an idea of the spectrum you may also try outside predictors such as [url]http://fr.fintastic.net/[/url] (formally known as trollslum due to the website it was hosted at). Keep in mind that outside sites like these are not endorsed or overseen by FR. [i]I don't have that many colour options for my custom progenitor, why not?[/i] The original colour wheel looked like: [img]http://media.tumblr.com/0c479101468110de134934fad5469a62/tumblr_inline_mmmw9uTdZh1r0vr4u.jpg[/img] These are the options for your custom progenitor, this is to keep it fair for those players who started before the colour wheel expanded. All of your other dragons, including the random progenitor can be any of the colours on the expanded wheel. [i]What is tertiary colour?[/i] The tertiary colour only shows up when a dragon has a tertiary gene other than basic (like circuit or gembond). These genes show up over the primary and secondary colours. [i]How do I change a dragon's eye colour?[/i] You cannot change a dragon's eye colour at this time, it is an indication of the element the dragon has. Each Flight has its own eye colour, and any dragon born in your nest will have the same eye colour regardless of the Flights the parents are from. In my case I could breed a Shadow (dark purple eyes) dragon to a Plague dragon (red eyes) but the hatchlings will all have yellow eyes because I am in Light flight. You can get dragons with different eye colours by trading with other players (or finding orphaned eggs) but remember these eye colours will not be inherited. [i]Gene inheritance[/i] All genes are dominant; this means that what you see is what you get. Genes will not skip generations; if a parent does not have it there is no way that the offspring will inherit it. If there are two types of genes there may be a difference of inheritance rate. The basic gene will be more likely to be passed on than treasure or gem genes. Treasure genes will be more likely to be passed on then gem genes. [i]What is breeding cooldown?[/i] Every type of dragon has a set amount of time that they will be unable to breed after having eggs, this helps limit population explosions. The amount of time this takes depends on the breed: plentiful breeds (mirrors, guardians, tundras and faes) having a cool down of 15 days while rarer breeds can have a cool down of up to 35 days. All dragons except progenitors start with a cool down that is breed appropriate. (So all orphaned dragons will have a 15 day cool down.) Specific cooldowns can be found at the bottom of [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=wiki&article=8]this[/url] page. [i]Is there any way to reduce the breeding cooldown?[/i] Currently there is no way to reduce the cooldown besides waiting for it to elapse. [i]If I use a breed change scroll on my dragon, will it change the cool down time?[/i] Although the text currently states that breed change scrolls can only be applied when cool down has expired, they can be applied as long as the dragon is not tending a nest. Once the item has been applied the next cool down will be appropriate to the dragon's breed. The scroll does not affect the amount of time that the current cool down will take. [i]What are the nest sizes? I keep getting one egg nests, bug or bad luck?[/i] Here are the probabilities for the nest sizes: [quote name="Akiri" date="2013-6-27 04:06:03"]When you interbreed 2 dragons of different species, this table is used: A chance at a 5th egg is added because you rolled the dice with species outcome. [indent][LIST] [*]5 eggs (5%) [*]4 eggs (10%) [*]3 eggs (45%) [*]2 eggs (30%) [*]1 egg (10%) [/LIST][/indent] If you breed two dragons of the same species, this table is used: [indent][LIST] [*]4 eggs (12%) [*]3 eggs (40%) [*]2 eggs (38%) [*]1 egg (10%) [/LIST][/indent][/quote] Note that it is possible to get several nests of 1 egg in a row, similar to the possibility of flipping a coin and getting heads 10 times in a row. This is not a bug, this is the random number generator doing its job. The odds work out when examining nest sizes of all users (but not necessarily an individual user's nests), and is monitored by the admin.

The hatchling preview lied or Why doesn't my Hatchling look like the preview?

How do colours work?
With the help of this handy wheel you can find the potential colours of the offspring.
*I am looking to find (or make) a free for use colour wheel image, in the meantime here is the sites colour previews: Starred Coatls are new colours, and a larger picture can be found here*
177_turquoise.jpg

Look at the colours of the parent dragons and find the shortest distance between them.

If you would like to get an idea of the spectrum you may also try outside predictors such as http://fr.fintastic.net/ (formally known as trollslum due to the website it was hosted at). Keep in mind that outside sites like these are not endorsed or overseen by FR.

I don't have that many colour options for my custom progenitor, why not?
The original colour wheel looked like:
tumblr_inline_mmmw9uTdZh1r0vr4u.jpg
These are the options for your custom progenitor, this is to keep it fair for those players who started before the colour wheel expanded. All of your other dragons, including the random progenitor can be any of the colours on the expanded wheel.

What is tertiary colour?
The tertiary colour only shows up when a dragon has a tertiary gene other than basic (like circuit or gembond). These genes show up over the primary and secondary colours.

How do I change a dragon's eye colour?
You cannot change a dragon's eye colour at this time, it is an indication of the element the dragon has.

Gene inheritance
All genes are dominant; this means that what you see is what you get.

What is breeding cooldown?
Every type of dragon has a set amount of time that they will be unable to breed after having eggs, this helps limit population explosions. The amount of time this takes depends on the breed: plentiful breeds (mirrors, guardians, tundras and faes) having a cool down of 15 days while rarer breeds can have a cool down of up to 35 days. All dragons except progenitors start with a cool down that is breed appropriate. (So all orphaned dragons will have a 15 day cool down.) Specific cooldowns can be found at the bottom of this page.

Is there any way to reduce the breeding cooldown?
Currently there is no way to reduce the cooldown besides waiting for it to elapse.

If I use a breed change scroll on my dragon, will it change the cool down time?
Although the text currently states that breed change scrolls can only be applied when cool down has expired, they can be applied as long as the dragon is not tending a nest. Once the item has been applied the next cool down will be appropriate to the dragon's breed. The scroll does not affect the amount of time that the current cool down will take.

What are the nest sizes? I keep getting one egg nests, bug or bad luck?
Here are the probabilities for the nest sizes:
Akiri wrote on 2013-6-27 04:06:03:
When you interbreed 2 dragons of different species, this table is used: A chance at a 5th egg is added because you rolled the dice with species outcome.
  • 5 eggs (5%)
  • 4 eggs (10%)
  • 3 eggs (45%)
  • 2 eggs (30%)
  • 1 egg (10%)
If you breed two dragons of the same species, this table is used:
  • 4 eggs (12%)
  • 3 eggs (40%)
  • 2 eggs (38%)
  • 1 egg (10%)
Note that it is possible to get several nests of 1 egg in a row, similar to the possibility of flipping a coin and getting heads 10 times in a row. This is not a bug, this is the random number generator doing its job. The odds work out when examining nest sizes of all users (but not necessarily an individual user's nests), and is monitored by the admin.

Treasure, Items, Familiars and Vault

How do I get treasure (gold)?
You can get treasure from playing fair games, answering Tomo's questions correctly, trading in junk to Crim, or selling items and dragons through the auction house or threads to other players. If no one is buying, you can sell the items for a small amount (the sell price listed when you hover over the items) by selecting the items in your hoard and pressing the sell button. Dragons can be exalted if you would rather have the money than the dragon (with the exception of progenitors who do not give you treasure or dominance). Higher level dragons give you more treasure.

What do I do with all this junk?
Items you find or win in the coliseum can be sold (or traded) to other players, traded to Swipp for other items, sold to Crim for treasure or sold back to the system for a small but guaranteed amount of treasure. You can also visit Baldwin and he will allow you to melt some of your items to combine for items.

Auction House
The Auction House (AH) can be found on the navigation bar under Shop. This is where players can sell items and dragons to each other, for treasure or gems. Items are sold for the posted price selected when the sale is set up, there is no bidding involved. The sale will remain available for the time period selected and if no one buys your item it will be returned to the hoard (or lair if it was a dragon). There is a fee for treasure transactions dependent on how long the sale was to be posted, gem sales do not have this fee. The fees for treasure sales are 1% for one day, 2% for three days and 3% for seven days.
To use the search first make sure you are in the correct tab (they are the same as in your hoard), or the item will not be found.
Note: There is occasionally a delay between the dragon being removed from the AH and it's status updating in your lair, it should resolve by itself in 5-15 minutes.

Estimating item prices
If you would like to determine how much an item would cost when bought from the marketplace you can take the sell value in the item description and multiply it by 10. This works for all items sold in the marketplace for treasure. Some items with a sell value are not available from the marketplace but only from Swipp or players that have traded with him. Items sold for gems do not typically have a sell value and you will have to estimate the price by looking at current prices in the AH, if there are listings, and/or looking in the Items For Sale thread for demand.

Crim the Collector
Crim can be found at the trading post in the area with the table, cart and bags. She will list 5 items each hour and how much treasure you will receive for the trade. These trades are random each hour and player specific, any unused trades will be lost. The amount of treasure you receive is 500t or 2x the item's sell price, whichever is higher. Keep in mind that there are some items that sell for much higher prices when sold on the AH (such as dragon eggs and the Ambush stone). It is a good idea to check the AH prices before trading to Crim.
Note: Items without a sell value should not be requested by Crim, if you see an item that should not be requested please report it in the bug forum.

Pinkerton's Pludered Pile
Can be found at the giant pile. Pinkerton gives one item from Crim's collection each day. He does not give away quite all the things that Crim will ask for (such as gene/breed changes) but he can give rare familiars, apparel and Ambush stones.

Swipp's Swaps
Located at the fancy wagon, Swipp has trades for items some of which can not be obtained any other way (besides buying from players who have traded with him). His offer changes every 2 hours and is the same for all players. You will need to have all the requested items for the exchange, the list of items that Swip offers can be found here.
Two of Swipp's children (Pipp and Tripp) are occasionally helping out at the stall now, they will offer deals from Swipp's selection but will ask for 1000 or 2000 treasure in addition to the items. Pipp and Tripp's offers cycle at the same rate as Swipp's and are selected randomly from all the potential trade offers.

Baldwin's Brew
Baldwin can be found at the cauldron in the Trading Post. He will let you drop something in his cauldron from your hoard categories of Food, Materials, Apparel, Familiars, or Other and will give you an item that can be used to craft alchemical items. More recipes unlock as you practice (including melting items). The item type that is given to you depends on the category that you dropped in the cauldron, but the colour of the item is random.
Food items transmute to Goo, Material transmutes to Ooze, Trinkets to Sludge, Apparel to Slime, and Familiars to Muck. It appears that some colours are more likely to appear than others, from most to least likely:
    Food, Material, Trinkets:
  • Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue
    Apparel:
  • Grey, White, Black
    Familiars:
  • Copper, Silver, Gold

Trading items
You can trade items, currency, and dragons securely through the crossroads. Transactions can be one way (gifts), or a two way trade. Each person involved in the trade can attach up to 3 dragons, 36 stacks of items, and any amount of treasure and gems (make sure that items and currency that you want to trade are not in your vault). There is a chat that you can use when trading items, please keep in mind that cancelled trades will have their chats deleted.
More information about the Crossroads can be found here.

Can I preview breed change, gene scrolls or apparel?
Breed change and gene scrolls can be previewed for a dragon through the Predict Morphology option in Scrying Workshop. If you take the dragon's ID number (the numbers under their name on their page) and put it in the box on the Predict Morphology page to fill out the dragon's appearance. You can then change gene options to see what the dragon would look like. Keep in mind that you can change a dragon's breed or genes easily, but colour can only be changed randomly (with a tri-scatter scroll).
Apparel can be previewed on a blank dragon by clicking on the apparel's picture in the marketplace, you will have to select which breed and gender you want to see it on from a drop down menu. Breed changes and gene scrolls can be previewed on dragons that are available to be changed in your lair by clicking on the scroll in your hoard. Keep in mind that dragons tending a nest are not able to be breed- or gene- changed.

How do I get familiars?
You can buy them from the marketplace or auction house, acquire them in the coliseum by defeating them as an enemy, trading for them at Swipp's or receive them from Pinkerton. There is also the chance you will find them in treasure chests or while gathering.

What good are familiars?
They are pretty to look at, and if you give one to your dragons they can bond with them once a day. When you spend time with the familiar (by clicking the heart on the profile of a dragon equipped with one) their bond will increase and they will give you a small amount of treasure, when the bar fills you will progress to the next bond level and be awarded a chest. As the bond increases the rewards will also increase.

I can only equip one X type familiar, is it broken?
This is working as intended, you can own as many of one type of familiar as you like but you may only equip one of them at a time. You will be able to see all the familiars you own in the hoard, but only those types that are not currently equipped will show up in the box when you try to equip one.

What happens to the bonding level of a familiar when ...?
Bonding level is specific to the type of familiar, not to the individual familiar. This means that you can move familiars around, or even sell them and when you equip that type of familiar again it will be at the same bonding level as when you removed it.
Remember, to increase bonding level you need to equip them and then "pet" them by clicking on the heart button in their box. You can bond with them once a day.

What is the Vault?
This is a safe place to put items, gems, and treasure where you can't accidentally sell or spend them. Any items in the Vault can only be accessed by going to the Vault section (by navigating to your hoard then clicking on the greyed out chest locked with chains). It is organized just like your Hoard but you cannot convert or sell items from it, you will need to move items back into your hoard to use them.

How do I put items/treasure/gems into the Vault?
Items can be deposited into the Vault by selecting the number of them that you would like to move (by using the check box and setting the number) in the Hoard and then selecting "To Vault". Items that have a hoard sell value of 0 (such as skins, chests and holiday currency) have a "To Vault" button instead of a check box, these items may only be moved to and from the Vault in bulk (whatever amount is in the stack).
Treasure and gems can be moved into or out of the Vault using the appropriate area at the bottom of the Vault window. Enter the amount that you would like to deposit (or remove) and push the plus (or minus).

To gain access to the Vista in the forum, go to the specialty tab and click on the Vista you would like to apply. *Note* Once used that Vista is account locked and no longer available for sale or trade, unless you obtain another item. You can only have one of each Vista available, so you cannot activate more than one copy of each Vista type. The method of obtaining them depends on the Vista (see below), new ones are being added over time.

What are the current Forum Vistas? How can I get X Vista?
You can buy Vistas from the gem or treasure marketplace, trade for them at Swipp's, brew them at Baldwin's or collect them from the coliseum. There may be a few of the Kickstarter backer chests around unopened which also contained a vista for the user who opens them. With so many ways of obtaining Vistas they deserve their own post. Please visit "List of the Vistas" by for more detailed information.

How do I show off my dragon? How do you have the picture of the dragon link in the forums?
There are a few ways to do it, but the easiest I've found is to go to the dragon's page and click on the "Generate Code" button. If you copy and paste the BBCode section into your post you will have a clickable picture that is linked to that dragon's page.

How do I insert pictures? How do I insert my artwork?
In the forums there is a button that looks like a tree (to the right of the chain, if you click it a prompt asking for a URL will pop up. You will need to make sure you give it the address for the picture itself (not the page you are viewing it on) which you can find by using right click or equivalent and use "copy link address", "copy image address", or "copy image URL".
If you prefer to code it by hand use:

How do you insert clickable links? Can you hide them behind clickable words?
There is a button that looks like a chain (to the left of the tree) and if you click it you will be able to insert the URL of the site you wish to link to.

Code:
[url]put_your_link_here[/url]

Can you view your recent forum activity?
There is a window on your clan page that shows the last 7 threads you posted on, if you want to see more you can click on the title of that box (Recent Forum Activity). However, this list does not have clickable links.

What is the maximum size for forum signatures?
It is 500 pixels by 100 pixels. Note: There seems to be a bug at this time, and to ensure the bottom of your banner/signature does not get cut off it is recommended to be 90-94 pixels high or less. If you have experienced this error please visit this thread and add your information to the report.

Can I rename a thread? How do I edit a post?
If you would like to alter one of your posts in a thread, go to the post in question and use the option 'Edit' (between report and delete on the top bar). You will be given a window to edit the post in that works just like the one to make a new post. To rename a thread you edit the first post in the thread.

Can I delete a post/thread?
If you would like to delete one of your posts in a thread, go to the post in question and use Delete (last option on the top bar of the post). You will be asked if you are sure, this is an irreversible process so be careful. This option makes the post in question, or the whole thread if you delete the first post, invisible and inaccessible to all players.

Aren't we supposed to get alerts from forums we are subscribed to?
Yes we are. But there are some tangled webs behind the scenes and quite often the alerts that would occur during a new post will not go through. The alerts may be disabled by the admins while bug hunting continues. If you would like to remove a thread from your subscriptions list, click on the arrow near your username, click on Account Settings and click on the Manage button under Forum Subscriptions. You can then click the X by any thread title to remove it from your subscriptions.

Search is disabled, is there another way to find the dragon I am looking for?
You can use Google to help you find dragons with a particular colour or gene combination by using this formula
Code:
site:flightrising.com “Primary {Colour} {Gene}” “Secondary {Colour} {Gene}” “Tertiary {Colour} {Gene}” “{Breed} {Gender}” -board
and replacing the words between the curly brackets with the appropriate name (don't forget to remove the curly brackets from the search).

Coliseum
I can’t fight in the coliseum?
If you can get into the coliseum but you aren’t allowed to fight, make sure you have a team. You need to make sure all dragons on the team have a name and are adults, or they will not be allowed to fight. Additionally, dragons whose energy is too low will not be allowed to fight until they have at least 20 energy.
If the coliseum won’t load, it may be down for maintenance. Check the announcements or bug boards for status information on the coliseum.

The coliseum is kicking my butt, what’s going on?
After the training grounds, the coliseum is balanced with the assumption you have a team of 3 dragons. This means that a team with only 2 dragons is going to have a tough go of things. Try to get another adult dragon to help you out. If you are still having problems try to equip some battle stones as they will give you more tactical options. Note: At level 7 the enemies start using elemental attacks, which means you have to watch for elemental weaknesses. It is a good idea to get dragons from several elements to take advantage of elemental strengths and weaknesses.

What are the elemental strengths and weaknesses?

Read the chart as the element on the left is attacking the element on the top.

Can I remove Battlestones?
No, once a battlestone is placed and locked for use it will stay there until another stone overwrites it. You do not get battlestones back when you put another stone in the slot.

I can’t equip the battlestone, what’s wrong?
Make sure that the dragon’s element and the stone's element are the same. Also double check that the slot is unlocked and the stone is the right one for the row you are trying to put it in. If you are absolutely sure it should go where you are trying to put it, check the bug forum for a relevant topic.

I don't know what the types of battlestones are, can I have more information?
Salmastryon has started a helpful list of battlestones, divided by elements and types, you can find it here.

My dragon is doing very low damage, why?
If you are using meditate to generate breath you are also reducing physical damage by 75% for 2 turns. You can still use it to generate breath for melee dragons, but the next 2 turns the dragon has may be better suited to support abilities than attempting to attack the enemies.
If that is not the problem, make sure that you increase Strength for physical attacks (Slash) and Intelligence for magic based attacks (bolts).

How is experience (XP) awarded
The level of the highest dragon in your team determines how much XP will be awarded.
  • Dragon same level as the venue or below: Get the full experience determined by enemy type and a bonus that increases with each consecutive battle won.
  • Dragon level is within 3 levels higher than the venue you are in: You get a portion of the experience you would be awarded by those enemies and there is no combo bonus. The amount you receive declines as the gap between the dragon level and coliseum increases.
  • Dragon level is more than 3 levels higher than the venue you are fighting in you will not receive XP.
This means that if you are trying to speed train your dragons by having a high level dragon on the team you will need to fight at a higher level venue. The venue's level can be seen in the top left corner of the icon.

How do I use a Tincture of Dissolution?
You must have a Tincture in your hoard for this to work. In the "Abilities and Stats" section of the Coliseum; click on the "You have XP points to spend!" notification, or on the dragon image if you don't have XP points to spend. You will see the option there.
