TOPIC | How do I get more dragons?
Hi, I'm new and I was wondering if there is a way to get more dragons besides breeding and auctions.

@xcinnabonx If you hang around in the Dragon Trading forum or the Giveaways forum, people are frequently trying to give away dragons for free! My advice is to be very picky. Lair space is short and dragons are plentiful.

@xcinnabonx,

In addition to getting dragons from other players and breeding, you can also get them from Unhatched Eggs! These items are rare, making them quite valuable on the Auction House (around 300kt/g), and hatch G1 dragons, aka dragons with no parents, similar to your progenitors (the two dragons you started with), with random colours and all-basic genes. These, too, have the potential to be very valuable - e.g. a G1 with an XXX or XXY colour pattern can go for quite a hefty price (I've seen some go for a couple thousand gems) as there's a fair number of users who like to collect them because they like having a blank lineage box, and enjoy the project of geneing the dragon from scratch.

There's a few different types of unhatched eggs:

Unhatched elemental eggs will randomly hatch a G1 tundra, fae, mirror or guardian (one of the four 'starter' breeds). These can be found rarely when scavenging in their corresponding elemental zone (e.g. an Unhatched Light Egg is found when scavenging in Light) or they can also rarely drop from enemies in the coliseum.

Unhatched Bogsneak Eggs hatch G1 Bogsneaks, and they can be made in Baldwin's Bubbling Brew at level 16.

Unhatched Nocturne Eggs hatch G1 Nocturnes, and they can be found rather often during Night of the Nocturne (which starts on the 23rd and lasts two weeks!) A quick heads up about NoTN: Do NOT sell eggs during this time. The egg market crashes due to the easy availability of Nocturne eggs, so eggs become, at times, 200kt/g cheaper!

These eggs, of course, can also be aquired from other players, but if you want to save some treasure, your best bet is either to use all your gathering turns on Scavenging, or wait for NoTN.
