TOPIC | Cross-Site Trading Question
Hey! So, first of all, I want to emphasize that this is not a question I'm asking because I, myself, want to do it. I have a very hard time selling dragons as-is, and I only do cross-site trading using gems and treasure with one other pet site that allows it, which I know is allowed according to their cross-site trading article in the knowledge base.
I also do not know what account this is, so if this is a problem, I'm going to contact the server owner to explain the situation, since I literally physically cannot report the account, because I don't know what it is.
I'm in a discord server for adoptable sales, like the type on deviantart. Last night, someone in the server asked if they could sell flight rising dragons in the server. Firstly, I'm not even certain if they should do that, seeing as most people there, probably don't have an account, and said person,, can't really use them as an oc, since I'm fairly certain that's at least somewhat against fr's rules? Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Anyways, they said they were looking for art in exchange for them, which, I'd assume isn't against the rules. But the server owner also said they should preferably sell them for points, which are "currency" on deviantart, you have to buy it, and it can be transferred back into real money.
So, to the actual question, would selling their dragons in an adoptable server be allowed at all, without considering what they get in turn? And if so, would selling them for points be against fr rules?
I don't want to get in any trouble with my account over this, if it comes out later that this is not allowed. I don't what my account banned because I associated with someone who did this, I care about my dragons far too much, and I've spent way too much energy and time on this site to lose all of that because of one issue.
If this isn't allowed and the server owner won't listen I will leave, its not worth the risk.
I just want to know what I need to do, if anything.

@verenacafern You aren't going to be banned for being on the same discord server as someone who broke the rules. As long as you're not breaking any rules you're fine and FR can't police what you do offsite anyway.

Advertising their FR dragons on discord is fine. Trading them for art is fine. Selling them for DA points isn't allowed as DA doesn't allow offsite trading for their points.
We're not quite sure what you mean with selling them on an adoptables server. If they're just advertising their FR dragons that's ok. If they're trying to sell just the official images of them as adoptables/OCs to people who don't even have accounts that's against the rules.

@Lonin That's a relief, I have heard through fr servers that things like that have happened before, which is why I was/am worried about it.

What I mean about an adoptables server is that its a discord server exclusively meant to advertise adopts, and let others in the server buy them. I can only assume they'd be trying to sell official images as adopts to people within the server, however I'd assume if the person had an account, they would transfer them. I'll let the server owner know that they cannot sell them for points, though, thank you!

@verenacafern :D Stuff like that doesn't really happen. You need to remember that people don't always tell the truth about why they were banned and since FR doesn't discuss account actions taken against other people there isn't much need for someone to be honest when a lie makes them look better.

Advertising their actual dragons wouldn't be against FR rules but sounds like it might be against the server's. If they were selling just the art as adopts that would both be against the rules and be art theft.

Sounds like someone trying to pass off FR art/dragons as their own art and get DA points/money out of it. Art theft.

Against TOS for everything involved, and also illegal and immoral. That person should be kicked off the server, frankly.
