how would it look in their bestiary if i sold an awakened familiar? would the special background disappear, or it would lose its color in the bestiary altogether? and would it still be counted as part of the number next to the bestiary icon?

They would still be colored, but the background would disappear. I believe that the familiar count would disappear, but I'm not 100% on that.

Confirming that if you sell your last copy of a familiar, your profile/forum count goes down!
