TOPIC | Question for which coli setup
I want someone to train one of my dragons but am not sure which build is best for a 1 lvl 25 training 2 fodder dragons build.

I found these 2 thread but they are both different and one says arcane is best, the other says Nature is best to use

Has anyone any experience with which works best?

@Chichi We haven't tried the ghostlight ruins build but the mire one works very well.
We imagine training in the mire will be slightly faster since it's a higher level venue but if you aren't bothered about absolute time optimisation it probably doesn't matter too much :D

You could always try them both out and see which you prefer. A tincture to reset stats is only 30k which should be affordable if you're doing a bit of grinding anyway.

@Chichi Those are two different builds. In general, for a 2 fodder training build, you need to choose a venue first. Then, from there, you'll be able to find out which elements are best for that venue. Maki has an up-to-date guide that includes every trainable venue here. Either pick a dragon and look for what venue they'd work in by element, or pick a venue and look for a dragon in your lair that matches the best element for that venue.

The Mire (Arcane element best) is probably one of the easiest to start out in: it's fast, it's commonly known, and unlike the Ghostlight Ruins, it doesn't have a large percentage of physical attackers who will try to punch you down before you get your training in, etc. I wouldn't recommend Culex's build, though, as it's out of date now (it was made back before the Coliseum revamp).

That said, Ghostlight certainly isn't bad, and I very much enjoy my Ghostlight Trainer! I just think, everything else being equal and Eliminate now being a drop from the Mire, that the Mire comes out a little ahead due to being an easier venue.

@Chichi

Culex's guide is great for leveling up your first team before tincturing them to a more efficient build for other things. Culex's guide hasn't been updated to keep up with the Mire additions so the current "best" Mire stats are 119 STR/64 QCK/30 VIT.

That gets you a Mire Flyer which is best for L6+ training of 2 fodder at a time. Best elements are Arcane and Earth but it's an easier venue for non-optimal elements compared to the Ghostlight Ruins

The Ruin Wrecker is best for a Nature or Water dragon and it's more efficient for L6 and under leveling given how you can start on more packs than the Mire.

"Best" depends on what you are intending to focus on. L6+ and you're likely to want the Mire Flyer. L6 and under you'll want the Ruin Wrecker.

There are other builds here with differing elemental strengths. The first post gives you an idea of the relative speeds for leveling to L25.

You'll also get somewhat more in the way of food drops in the GR per hour but depending on fodder prices this isn't always a better thing. I keep a double fodder trainer for both the GR and the Mire to take advantage of which is the better venue on any given day based on fodder prices, how much time I have and how many exalt bonus dragons I can get.

Or just choose based on which venue you'd like to spend more time in or the element of the dragon you'd like to stare at as you level fodder.

Hope this helps!

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
@Lonin @mothscale @Nightwind

Thank you all so much for the detailed help!

I think I will be focusing on the lvl 6+ mire flyer and it also sounds like a good idea to also get a ruin wrecker later o.o

I also forgot to mention that I am an old player who has been on a very long hiatus and that is why I was mostly only familier with culex's leveling guide cx

@Chichi It's still a very good guide, and it tends to be the one that most people are recommended for a reason! Good times, I trained so many teams based entirely on that guide. [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=1] It's just that when they fixed some of the long-standing bugs, it meant that some of the stats in the older builds were suddenly irrelevant and no longer optimal. That's not always obvious, though, and in the Mire it means you have to take a bunch of additional actions that are no longer necessary (you can now rally + eliminate every single enemy in the Mire besides the bosses with the optimized stats Nightwind gave, much faster). Also, if you're a returning player, you might want to check out the controller button at the bottom of the Coliseum screen and test out the shiny new keyboard controls to see if they're fun for you! Unless you're on mobile or some other touchscreen. Good luck, and have fun!
