I have been playing since like 2013 I think, but took like a four year hiatus and just came back. What on earth is the hibernal den?! I can't really find an explanation anywhere, I know I can make dragons "hibernate" there but why would I do that? What is the advantage? Same with lair tabs, what's up with that???

@ArborS
in the hibernal den dragons are unable to do certain activities like coli or breeding in exchange for not losing energy as long as they’re in there, so it’s essentially an extra storage space for some permas or even fodder. dragons in the den still age normally and will have a 1 month cooldown when they’re taken out before they can be put back in the den
as for lair tabs, that’s just extra organization

@ArborS Lair tabs are just a way to sort dragons. They don't do anything other than let you organise dragons.
The hibernal den is a long term storage thing. Dragons in the den don't need to eat but they also can't breed or fight in the coliseum. You can put dragons in whenever you like but they have a 30 day cooldown upon leaving before you can put them back in.
The hibernal den has a lot more space than the regular lair and is mainly upgraded through items instead of through treasure so it's great for lots of cheap space for dragons that you want to keep but don't need right now c:

HIbernal den is great for display dragons - if you merely want dragons to sit there and look pretty, not breed/fight, setting them there will save your food stores and give you more space to take in fodder/hatchlings/etc. Some people also use their den for fodder, only bringing them back into the main lair as adults to exalt them, for a similar reason. Some people use it for both! Up to you what you want to do with it. :)

Ok thank you guys. Can a dragon in the hibernal den have a familiar/bond with it?
