TOPIC | A New Water Dragon Hatchling Appears!
Hello all, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Pict, but feel free to call me whatever you wish.

I run a foster home for animals that are in need of a temporary resting spot before they find their forever homes. Though I usually take care of cats, dogs, and rabbits, I have taken care of some strange critters such as crows, skunks, squirrels, and a raccoon at one point.

I do have two permanent residents, and that would be two dogs, one a Cocker Spaniel mix, and the other a Pomeranian. The two make an odd pair, but they get along alright. Or at least when I'm looking. >.>

I've been wanting to join for quite awhile now! I just am very forgetful and missed my chance quite a few times. So this time I was determined to snag my spot before I forgot again. So I sat on the front page for about an hour, just waiting. XD

I joined the Water Flight, purely because I took a quiz beforehand and it made it quite clear that the Water Flight was where I belonged. So here I am. :)

If anybody would like to chat, I wouldn't mind! I'd love to make a few friends. :D

Thank you, I appreciate your kindness! I'll definitely let you know if I have any questions. So far, I've gotten lucky with finding all the answers to my questions by searching through Guides and the likes. c:

It's definitely a very rewarding job! And there is ALWAYS room for people wanting to help pets in the business. Not only that, but usually people already in the business are willing to help others get to their feet. :) If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hmm. Interesting stories, eh? I do have a couple.

I guess the most recent one, would involve three ferrets. A young boy had called me, letting me know his mother was at wits end with the furry critters, and that he had to get rid of them. So I went to pick the trio up.

Though they were well fed, they were undisciplined and quite rowdy. I mean ferrets will be ferrets, but these three were troublemakers at heart.

So I get them inside, and I'm in the process of moving them into a cage I had set up, and one of them manages to twist his head into a weird angle and latches onto my thumb. Instant pain I tell you. Here I am, trying to pull this bugger off, and he's holding on for dear life, and the other two seize their chance and manage to nudge open the door on the cage that I had thoughtlessly left closed but unlatched.

They dash out of sight, and I'm left with the task of pulling off the first one and finding the other two. Luckily they hadn't gone far, and I coaxed them out with treats, but XD After that I was quite cautious with the three. They were smartie pants, I tell you.

Another story, was that last year in the Winter I ended up taking on 11 black lab pups, due to the owner saying he'd be keeping them outside if no one took them. Poor things were quite cold. So I took them all.

However taking care of 11 pups is no easy task. The next day, you wouldn't believe the amount of doggy poo I had to clean up. The owner hadn't been feeding them well, so it was...puddle form.

I did end up finding homes for all of them, but that was one of the biggest challenges I have underwent. Though one of the most memorable.

@Pict
glad to hear you're figuring out the site well!!

ah, that's an interesting story, i never really thought of ferrets as much, other than looking like a raccoon to me, but it seems like they're definitely mischievous little animals! never underestimate the power of them. :o

11 pups sounds like a lot of fun to be around!!.. except taking care of them aha. i hope you had fun with them besides cleaning up their.. mess. must of been somewhat bittersweet when you had to say goodbye to all of your little doggy friends, but glad to know they're going to good homes (i also find it impressive that you found homes for all of them! considering how many there were)
