If we're gonna play a game, you need some cash and some mechanics! Please read through all game mechanics thoroughly. PM myself or one of the mods if you happen to have any questions at any time.
Auction Phase
The Auction phase is a 21-hour long bidding period that runs from 19:00 FR time till 16:00 FR time. After the mod posts the Sabotages for the day, you have this amount of time to use your bidding pool of money to buy Sabotages to inflict devilish unpleasantries and discombobulate your opponents. Sabotages fall into two categories- Items, which act as 1-shot power roles (such as 1-Shot Doctor), and Post Requirements, which make your opponents post with a specific requirement in each of their posts (such as using the color=red tag for all of your posts, or making a bakery pun in every post). There will be no posting on the main discussion thread during Auction Phase. All sabotages are considered 1-shot.
Each player is assigned a Chef Name in their rolecard, as well as 25,000t (virtually) to bid with. If you and the rest of your team (town or mafia) win the game, you will be allowed to keep what you did not spend during the auction. All bids start at 50t. You must bid with your Chef Name. You will not be able to add to your 25,000t at any time, so bid wisely.

“I hope you all can make what I call some Good Eats for our lovely panel of judges today!"
Welcome to Cutthroat Kitchen Mafia: Bakery Edition, Crateshya! You are Chef Alton Brown. You are the host of Cutthroat Kitchen, and you delight in watching competitors suffer under the many sabotages you dish out.
You are a Celebrity Chef. You win when all members of the Saboteurs team are eliminated from the game and at least 1 Celebrity Chef remains alive.
Here is the link to your personal QT. You begin the game with 25,000t to bid with.

Bidding takes place through that day’s specific Google Form and Spreadsheet, which the Moderator will supply you with at the beginning of the day. At 16:00 FR time at the end of the Auction Phase, that day’s Google Forms will be locked and the game will enter lockdown, where sabotages are given out. All previous Google Spreadsheets for Auction Phases will be available for perusal on the front page.
You may bid on multiple sabotages in one Auction Phase, but you cannot use sabotages on yourself. You may only use One Item Sabotage and one Post Requirement Sabotage per Cooking Phase.
Chef monetary totals will be added to the spreadsheet in a locked column and will reflect the amount of money you have available for bidding at the start of the Auction Phase. If you do not have enough money for one Sabotages, it will go to the next highest bidder. If you do not have enough money for multiple Sabotages, you will lose out on the last Sabotage you bid and it will go to the next highest bidder. Your revised totals will also be posted in your personal QTs at the end of the Auction Phase.
Action Resolution is common sense based for items. Same items that are older have higher priority than newer items. Ex. Alton Brown buys a 1-shot Vigilante day one, while Jet Tila buys a 1-shot vigilante day 3. Alton Brown moves first in Action Resolution over Jet Tila, who has the same item.
You may not use Sabotages during the Auction Phase.
All Post Requirement Sabotages are Lightning and can be used at any time during the Cooking Phase. See Cooking Phase for more information on Lightning abilities.
One player may have up to 3 post requirements at any given time- although this is Cutthroat Kitchen, feel free to spread the love! If there is a conflict between two post requirements (such as one stating you must use the color=red tag, and another saying you must use the color=transparent tag), the older one is replaced with the newer one.
Sabotages can not be gifted or stolen to/from other players. You must use them yourself.
The three-hour period between end of the Auction Phase and the beginning of Cooking Phase is considered lockdown for the sake of assigning items to players.
Cooking Phase
The Cooking phase is a 21-hour long bidding period that runs from 19:00 FR time till 16:00 FR time, immediately following the Auction Phase. The Cooking Phase is the Discussion phase of the game- this is where you duke it out with your fellow chefs in order to cook the meal for that day. To be less metaphorical, this is where all players gather and speak about who they wish to lynch (eliminate) from the game for that day. There must always be a lynch- this is Cutthroat Kitchen, after all!
Item Sabotages must be used during the Cooking Phase. They must be locked in before 16:00 FR time via your personal QT, at which point Lockdown/Night Phase begins. Item Sabotages will not occur during Cooking Phase unless they are Lightning.
Your sabotages will have (USAGE TAGS) preceding it in parentheses.
- (ACTIVE) sabotages must be submitted via QT in order to take effect.
- (PASSIVE) sabotages will work the night you buy the Item Sabotage. You do not need to state you are using a passive ability to use it.
- (SELF) sabotages will automatically target yourself and cannot be used on other players.
- (LASTING) sabotages last the entirety of the game. You do not need to state you are using a lasting ability to use it.
- (PROTECTIVE) sabotages may not be used in the Final Round Phase.
- (LIGHTNING) sabotages take effect immediately (you may know these as instant or day abilities). Lightning abilities must be submitted via Flight Rising’s PM system to the moderators and will be applied as soon as we receive it. Lightning Items may not be used during Lockdown. If we receive the PM before Lockdown but do not get to it before lockdown, the item will take effect before all Lockdown actions.
In addition to Sabotages, the mafia receive a (FACTIONAL) kill ability. Players may not use an Item Sabotage the night they use this ability. Factional kills are assigned to one player and can be blocked.
At the end of the day, Lockdown (Night phase) will occur. During Lockdown, you may continue to post on the main Discussion thread, up to when I make my reserve posts. Whomever has the most votes at the end of the day will be lynched. All actions will take place during Lockdown between the Cooking Phase when someone is lynched, and the next Auction Phase.
Wincons. Each player plays to their win condition (wincon). The two factions and their wincons are as follows:
- Celebrity Chef (Town). You win when all members of the Saboteurs faction are eliminated from the game and at least 1 Celebrity Chef remains alive.
- Saboteur (Mafia). You win when the living members of the Saboteurs faction outnumber the Celebrity Chefs. Parity (equal number of Saboteurs and Celebrity Chefs) does not end the game due to Random Lynch Mechanic for tied votes.
Final Round
When things heat up in Cutthroat Kitchen, they really heat up! Final Round is when the game enters Mislynch and Lose (MYLO) or Lynch or Lose (LYLO), according to town’s wincon and killing sabotages left in the game. Final Round will begin at the end of Lockdown after all sabotages have taken place, on the next day cycle. I will not specify whether the game is in MYLO or LYLO, merely that is one of the two. Once the game has entered Final Round Phase, it will remain Final Round Phase for the rest of the game.
During Final Round, the Auction Phase and the Cooking Phases meld together to become one, singular phase that lasts for 45 hours. Day begins at 19:00 FR time and ends at 16:00 FR time. Not only will you be expected to pick a lynch, but you will also be buying your sabotages during this time. You will be able to talk while auctions are happening, and you will be able to use sabotages.
All Sabotages will run for 6 hours, posted throughout the in-game day based on player availability. For this reason, we will be asking for your FR hours of availability when you sign up. This information will not be disclosed to the players at any given time during the game- this is simply to make sabotages fairer for all players and timezones. Some auctions will run simultaneously aside each other.
All Sabotages bought during the Final Round receive Priority over normal Auction Phase sabotages.
All Sabotages bought during the Final Round are (LIGHTNING) abilities.
Killing Abilities that would cause a wincon to occur end the game immediately.
All Sabotages marked with (PROTECTIVE) do not work during the Final Phase.
All other normal Sabotages bought during Normal Auction Phases will take place through Lockdown, as normal.
Final Interviews
So you got lynched or killed, huh? What would a good gameshow be if you didn’t get a final say on how you performed during the game? This acts as a Last Will mechanic to the game- in the event of your death (be it lynch or killing ability) your Last Will will be posted in the End of the Day results. If you do not write one, the mods will flavor your Final Interview for you.
- Final Interviews may not include any sort of game information in them. This is not to be confused with how well you played in the game, merely information such as what actions you took, or who you suspected.
- Final interviews cannot be any longer than 100 characters and must be labeled with a bold tag in your personal QT as Final Interview: (What you would like to say here)
- Do not single out any player in your Final Interview, dead or alive.
- Memeing or posting gifs, so long as they aren’t seizure-inducing and abide by FR rules, is allowed. You cannot use a gif and 100 written characters at the same time.
- Advertising your own personal shop, game thread, hatchery, etc is not allowed.
- All Final Interviews must be moderator approved.
